The Potentials are the girls who are most likely to become slayers after the current slayer dies. In season seven, they were rounded up and brought to Sunnydale to prepare for the war. They did not have any slayer powers until the last episode, where Willow cast a spell to turn all the potentials in the world into Slayers. This was brought into an Angel crossover, where a potential became a slayer while in a mental ward in season 5, and believed Spike was the man who drove her insane. She broke out, trying to take revenge.
