The story begins by a coincidence. An inevitable scene. A wolf, which took the name of Ivan, stood quietly behind a tree, waiting for his prey to pass by. Wolves usually hunt for their prey with their packs, but not him. Well, not anymore. He used to be in a pack, but everyone went their separate ways.

They were a small pack with few wolves. Including him, that would be six wolves. His older and younger sisters and three others would hunt with him. They were one of the most powerful of packs, if not the most. They would run after their prey, and after wearing it out, attack. They would have such feasts!

To be honest, Ivan didn't really like killing the prey and spilling their blood, but he had no choice. He had to do it for survival. As a carnivore, his stomach wouldn't allow him to change his meaty diet to something that required less violence to obtain.

Then he saw something pass by. A red figure. He peeked from the side of the tree to see its back as it walks down the dirt path. Ivan sniffed the air. It didn't smell like an animal. It didn't smell like a fairy, either. It was a human. Ivan cursed under his breath. Humans were annoying and troublesome, but they don't come often. Especially if they don't have any hunting gear.

Fear was evident on its face. It quickly turned and ran. It had dropped something in the process. Ivan walked over to it, and sniffed in curiosity. Metal. He smelled some kind of metal, but it didn't look like something most humans who venture into the woods would bring. He didn't find any purpose for it, so why not return it? Maybe when he'll return it, it'll think he's friendly and let his guard down?

He broke out into a chase. It wasn't in sight, but Ivan still caught its smell. When he finally tracked it down, it had its hand against a tree, panting. Ivan ever so quietly walked up behind it, and tapped its shoulder. It tensed. It immediately spun around.

It had large, dark brown eyes. Its cheeks glowed as if there was a small flame under them. It had long, silky brown hair tied into a ponytail. It was pale and it shook from fear. Then it got into some kind of fighting position. "D-Don't you try a-anything, aru," he warned "I know kung fu!" Ivan found this adorable. It looked like a kitten trying to fend off a wolf. Well, if it were a kitten, that would be literal.

Ivan smiled sweetly and held out the mysterious item it had dropped. "This belongs to you, da?"

"A-Ah," he hesitantly reached to take it. Then their hands made contact. The human stopped and stared at their hands for a moment before pulling his hand, with the object, away. "Thank you, aru."

"You're welcome, miss~!"

"Wha-- MISS?!" Uh-oh. Did he do something wrong? It pouted and puffed out its rosy cheeks. "I'm a man!" Really? Because he didn't look like one... "Oh, I'm sorry," said Ivan "I was just guessing your gender." The human sighed. "I guess it's fine, aru. Everyone mistakes me for a woman, anyways." Awkward silence followed.

"What are you doing in the woods?" Ivan asked, breaking the silence.

"I'm here visiting my little brother," was the answer. "He's really antisocial, but choosing to live in the woods, aru? He's crazy, I swear." Ivan chuckled. "I come here every once a week." He added.

"I wonder why I don't see you, then~"

".... What's your name?" asked the human. That was kind of random, wasn't it?

"I'm Ivan Braginsky! And you?"

"Wang Yao. Nice to meet you," Yao bowed. "Oh! I must go!" He suddenly exclaimed. He started running again. "Goodbye, Ivan Braginsky!" Ivan waved. And he was gone.

Ivan stood there for a moment, taking everything in. Then the thought popped in his mind: He didn't catch his prey for food. Ivan facepalmed.
