The sun was already rising, and the wolf was already waking up. He opened his eyes a bit and stared at nothing for a while. His brain started working and he noticed that something was petting with his tail.

"Yao, you're still here?" asked a sleepy Ivan.

"Yes, I am, aru," Yao said in a matter-of-fact voice. "You know I can't navigate my way out of these parts."

He continued petting the soft fluffy tail, until Ivan teased him by wagging it and making it hit his face. He fur tickled his nose, making him sneeze. Ivan laughed at him while he glared.

"Ivan," Yao said after the playful moment had died down. His friend's ears perked up, giving his attention to him.

"Yes?"

"I don't think I'll be here quite often anymore," Yao looked him in the eye. "My work vacation is over by tomorrow and I have to go back."

Ivan frowned. It was going to be lonely again. His ears lowered and he laid his tail on the human, feeling like it was enough to keep him there. Yao reached out and pet his head.

"I don't want Yao to go away," said he with the cutest puppy eyes he could pull off.

Yao felt bad. He didn't want to leave either, but he can't spend his days in the woods with his friend and be alright like some kind of fantasy. He had to face the unfairness of life.

"You know I can't help it, aru. This is reality."

"Then I will hunt down reality and kill it so Yao can stay here."

Yao went up and kissed his forehead, like what a mother does to a child. He reminded him of one. Ivan's cheeks had a light flush.

"Are you okay, aru?" asked Yao, noticing his flush.

"Hm? Oh, yes, I'm fine." He half-lied. He didn't know if he was fine. But Yao hugged him anyway.

"I can come here once a week, just like how I visit Kiku. Is that okay?"

Ivan wasn't satisfied by once a week, but if he still got to see him it was fine. "Alright. I will wait."

Yao smiled in his understanding. "Then I will see you then," he got up and started walking into the trees. Ivan went after him.

"You're leaving now?" He asked, sadly.

"Yes, aru," he answered, slowing down so he could walk out with his friend. "I still need to prepare my things for tomorrow."

Ivan huffed out, and muttered something like "Stupid reality..."

"Goodbye, Ivan," he bowed. "I will see you in a week."

"Goodbye, Yao." He fake-smiled.

Yao smiled as well. He turned around and walked away, looking back once to wave. After a while, he was out of sight.

The smile on his face went away and he walked over to his tree. He sat down, bored. Wondering what he would do for the rest of the day, he heard some rustling in the bush. He got ready to hunt it down, until he saw what made the rustling noise. It were those two fairies he had met some time back.

"Bonjour, mon ami~!" Francis greeted with words Ivan didn't understand. "We happened to be flying by and heard your farewells with your lover."

"My farewells with my lover?" Ivan realized the word he had used. "Y-Yao isn't my lover!"

"Yes, he isn't his lover, frog," Arthur retorted. "If they were, they would have kissed before leaving."

Ivan blushed in embarrassment. Francis laughed the weirdest laugh he had ever heard.

"He's blushing, so he must like him, ohonhonhon~!"

"He's my friend! That is all!" Ivan snapped.

"Hmm.... Maybe he just needs someone make him aware of love, then." Arthur wondered aloud.

"That's what I did," Francis announced, smiling victoriously.

"Well, that's good." said Arthur.

Then Francis gasped. "Did you just praise me?"

"So what if I did?!" Arthur yelled, obviously embarrassed.

"Is someone burning the woods?" Francis teased.

"Shut up!!"

The two had forgotten that Ivan was still there and started arguing. So, he just sat on the other side, pondering about what they meant.

Meanwhile, Yao was already readying his uniform for the next day. He had washed them the day before.

"Finished, aru," he put his hands on his waist. ".... Now what?"

He looked at the clock. 2:09 PM. Now he wished he hadn't left so soon.

He already ate and took a bath. "I guess I should re-clean the house,"

And so he did. It didn't take long, since it wasn't that dirty. After that, he sighed and plopped onto his bed.

"It's going to be a long day, aru..."
