So, to Ivan's happiness, Yao did come back the next day. His tail wagged upon seeing him. 'I don't think he saw me yet,' And idea popped up in his head. 'I should scare him, eheh~!' He thought.

He quietly ran through the trees and stopped at where Yao was walking by. He was humming some kind of tune. Eh, the only thing he cared about now was scaring him, so he didn't give the tune any mind. He snuck past the trees as his poor victim walks to their meeting place. "Ivan? Are you there--" and the wolf pounces on him.

"YAAAOOOO~!!" He yelled mid-air. Yao let out a high-pitched scream. It hurt Ivan's sharpened hearing senses, but he decided not to tell him that. They both hit the ground, with Ivan landing on Yao.

"Aiyah... Ivan...!" He panted, recovering from and trying to process what had happened. When his brain was done, he started playfully hitting him. "You jerk!" He laughed. Ivan laughed with him. The wolf got off of his petit friend. Yao let out a sigh. "You got me good, aru,"

"That's what I wanted," he smiled, innocently. Yao puffed his cheeks and put his sleeves together. Ivan walked around the tree. "What do we do today?"

"Hmm," Yao thought a bit. "Ooh, why don't we go to that opening, aru? You know, where the purple and blue flowers grow, and the atmosphere feels so magical and yet calm?" Ivan nodded and they went deep into the trees. Yao always had to follow Ivan when they did this, for he never dared to go far off the path without him. The woods was so big and he was afraid he wouldn't find his way out if he got lost. There wasn't much of a conversation on their way there, but one was bound to happen when they get there.

After a few minutes of walking, they got to the opening. They had found this a few days before, and Yao just loved it. He walked over to the near middle of the opening and lied on his back with his limbs sprawled out. Ivan followed and lied his head on Yao's stomach, which the human started petting. "You know, Ivan," he began. "I know we haven't known each other for long, but I was thinking; we don't know each other very well, now do we?"

Now that he thought about it, they didn't, didn't they? "No, we don't," he sat up. "I guess we should start telling each other more about ourselves, hm?"

"Yeah, aru," he sat up as well. "Let see... Have you ever gone out of the woods before?"

Ivan shook his head. "I fear that something bad might happen if I do. Most of the creatures here in the woods are very cautious when there are humans walking about,"

"Then why are you friends with me, aru?" asked a confused Yao.

"You didn't look like someone that would attack me and I was curious,"

"I see, aru,"

"Why do you wear that?" asked Ivan.

"Hm? Wear what?"

"Your shirt. It had really long and large sleeves,"

"Oh, this, aru?" He looked at his sleeves. "It's something I like wearing. I was born in China, but I grew up here, aru. I've visited China a lot, and I bought lots of clothing. It makes me feel nice, aru,"

"Why didn't you stay there?"

"Well, I didn't want to stay there for too long. The communism depresses me, aru,"

"Oh," Ivan had no idea what that meant, but he didn't want to ask if it depressed his friend.

The two kept talking and learning more about each other. They both found out that the other was just as strange as their own self. They had fun telling the other of experiences, like the feeling of the wind when Ivan chases after his prey, or the foods in China. It was all merry and fun, until Yao had to ask this question.

"What happened to your pack?"
