I slowly stepped out of the shower feeling very refreshed. I dried myself off and wrapped the towel around myself. I looked into the mirror and thought about how different I looked. I didn’t think I would ever be able to get used to it.
I quickly put on the clothes I had grabbed before. The tight jeans were blue and ripped a little and the T-shirt was black and baggy with a band I had never seen before. I must have accidentally grabbed one of Aaron’s shirts.
After blow drying my hair straight I smiled at myself in the mirror. My throat was still burning because of the fact that I needed blood, and the need was just building up. I just needed to keep control of myself. Other than that I felt a lot happier than I had in a long time. I almost skipped out of the bathroom; it was weird that I was this happy. Maybe the pain meds were getting to my head…
I went over to Aaron’s bed as quietly as I could but I knew he heard me coming. He was sitting on his bed reading a magazine. When he looked up at me he just stared with wide eyes. I gave him a confused look, what the hell was his problem?
When I realized he was probably staring at me because of my looks I couldn’t help but smirk a little. I jumped on his bed before he saw my smug smile and mimicked his position, sitting cross legged with my hands in front of me. He looked back to his magazine and I propped my elbows onto my knees, resting my head in my hands.
I gave a very over exaggerated sigh and Aaron glanced up from his magazine. He saw me staring at him and closed his magazine, smiling. He leaned back on his headboard and crossed his arms, never breaking eye contact with me.
“Where’d you get the magazine?” I asked, I didn’t even know they existed in this world.
“Tanya brought them,” he answered shortly, still staring at me.
“Who’s Tanya?”
“The maid, she finally broke the mystery of her name,” he said.
“I didn’t know there was a mystery,” I said honestly. I really hadn’t even thought about asking her for her name... “How come I’m never here when she brings stuff?”
Aaron’s response was a shrug and another staring contest. I pressed my lips together in frustration and looked around. This kid was so damn boring! I needed to find something to do or talk about.
Of course there wasn’t anything to do in the stupid room so I had to settle with talking. I simply had to pick a topic of interest…
Aaron was staring at me for so long I started fidgeting. I didn’t know what to talk about really. I didn’t want to bring up any emotional topics like escaping or why the hell we were kidnapped in the first place, but those were the only things I could think of.
I stared at my pale hands that were now resting in my lap and wondered what was going to happen to us. No one had told us anything about when or if we’d be released. Nothing was moving forward, just day in and day out in this room. The Master supposedly wasn’t even here; he was away on “business”.
I wiggled my fingers around a little and started to trace the scar on my leg. It brought back horrible memories of course and I ended up wincing and looking back to my hands for a distraction. I still didn’t understand why Gaven had done that, or if it had anything to do with us getting kidnapped. I was almost positive it did, but if that was the case then why did they heal me back up when I was brought here?
After my rambling thoughts slowed down I remembered Aaron was staring at me. I glared at him and saw he had a sort of confused expression. I was done with his awkward little game, though.
I unfolded my legs and started sliding off the bed.
“Wait,” Aaron said while grabbing my arm. Only he would wait until then to decide he wanted to talk to me.
