"And then he just left?" Jihye gasped

"And then he just left?" Jihye gasped.

"He just left."

"Just like that?"

"Just like that."

"Without properly talking about it or saying something in return?" Dahee chimed in from the phone.

"Without properly taking about it or saying something in return."

"What a bitch!" Jihye stood up in annoyance.

"I know right!" Siyun slammed her fist into her table from another end.

"Bro I don't even know why I still like him.."

"Exactly!"

"Hey guys have you seen my-" Jaesung peeked in clearly looking for something.

"Not now!" All four of us yelled in unison.

"What's going on- you know what never mind i said nothing yall continue." He said before closing the door and leaving.

"Ok so what do I do now?"

"You should definitely confront him."

"Fine I'll text him,"

"No not in text, in real life. That gives him less opportunities to ghost you."

"Bro but that's gonna be so awkward. And how do I get him away from his friend group? They're all so annoyingly attached to his ass it pissed me off." I rolled my eyes at the thought of it.

"That's not a problem, we'll handle that."

"How?"

"That's on us to figure out, but you just do it."

"Hey you!" I stomped over to where Anton was standing, kinda trying to look intimidating, but him trying not to laugh showed that I sucked at it.

He was in that spot, annoyed, texting someone before I got there. I waited, watching from afar if any of his friends would show up. When they didn't, I made use of that opportunity and stepped out in front of him before he had a chance to escape.

"Fancy seeing you here." His annoyance all of a sudden converted into a smile, leaning more towards a smirk.

"Wait...where are the others?"

"My group?"

"Yeah who else."

"No idea. I've tried texting them but I keep getting left on seen. Apparently they all collectively decided ditching me was a new trend or something." He said, pocketing his phone.

"So...?"

"What?"

"Oh you know what."

"Do I?"

"Shut up before I kick you in the gut."

"You know, maybe I do." He leaned against the wall.

"I want a reply. You simply just left yesterday." I said, somehow managing to hold eye contact.

He looked at me for a long second, just stared. Like he was both surprised and a bit proud of how bold I had become. That made him look somewhat more hotter then he already was, due to which, and my luck's amazing timing, my cheeks decided to go red. He seemed to have noticed that too, judging from the chuckle that came from his mouth a second later.

"Someone's definitely grown bolder." He tilted his head.

"Anton. I want an answer. That's literally all and I'll leave you alone. Just give me a proper reply dumbass." I sighed in defeat.

He went silent again. Then he said. "So...you still like me?"

"As embarrassing as it is, yes."

"Why?"

"......WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHY?" I internally (and maybe also externally) scream, which earned me a few side eyes.

"After all of....well... whatever happened all the time for so long... why do you still like me?" He asked, looking genuinely curious.

"Cause you're hot and I have extremely low standards." Is what I wanted to and should've said.
What did I say? "I honestly don't know myself... to be real.. we never even got to end things neatly even back then.."

"I thought you'd never forgive me." He looked directly into my eyes.

"I thought so too."

"And after you eventually did, I thought that'd be it. We'd actually like strangers who never met so things would be less awkward."

"I think that's how things would go if I was less stubborn.."

An awkward silence settled between us after that, stretching on longer than it should've. I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, suddenly very aware of how close we were standing, of how loud my heartbeat sounded in my ears. Somewhere behind us, people walked past, laughing, talking, living their lives like nothing emotionally devastating was happening two feet away.

Anton rubbed the back of his neck, eyes flickering anywhere but my face. I stared at the crack on the floor between us like it held the secrets of the universe.

"So," he muttered finally, clearing his throat.

"So," I echoed, way too quickly.

Another pause. Worse than the first.

"Yeah," he said, letting out a short, awkward laugh. "This is... awkward."

"You think?" I replied, deadpan.

Silence again.

"Honestly... if Taesan hadn't called me yesterday and I needed to answer, I'd probably get flustered and make a fool of myself back there."

"Why'd you be the one flustered? I'm the one who confessed." I raised an eyebrow.

"Cause you're not the only one with attachment problems yeon."

"What?"

"I like you too."
