In Too Deep

*Michael's POV*

I can't believe I ran away from the group... I felt something, like, pulling me here to this tree though. Just a moment before, I had laid eyes on the most gorgeous six stringed beauty, aaaaaannnnd no one was claiming it at the moment so I kind of took it.
Oops.
Nah, I'm not sorry.
I sat down next to a random tree and began to tune my newly obtained instrument.
The first string, a D, was so well in tune it almost brought tears to my eyes.
Seriously, why the frick frack paddy wack am I sobbing?
Okay... Next note...
Still, amazing! I am now filled completely to the brim with joy! As I continue to tune, well I mean it was already flawless so I guess play, my guitar my emotions flipped around at the drop of a dime. These strings... they aren't normal. Honestly, I'm pretty sure they control how you feel. I know, that sounds insane but you're not the one trapped inside the world of Pokemon... I need to use this to find the others somehow, I'm assuming, but I don't think I can just sob my way there... Oh, well...

*Payton's POV*

"Watch out!" A small and fragile black paw shoved me with extreme force away from Natsu, who was in the middle of another heated argument with Grey, of course...
I looked down and saw the purring little black cat rubbing against my feet. In disgust, I nudged him away with my shin and looked over to Rachel who clearly thought Denis transforming into a cat was the greatest thing since sliced bread. "Get away, cat," I hissed at him.
His brown eyes squinted at me as he trotted away with his tail following him high in the hair.
"You know," Rachel raised an eyebrow at me, "hissing at a cat makes you look like a 5 year old again."
I sighed and continued to watch the black cat curl up in Rachel's lap as she plopped down on the ground beside him, "Sorry, he's annoying... and weird."
Rachel bit her lower lip slightly and pulled Denis to her chest, trying to hide the fact I may have just hurt her feelings. It was meant to hurt that cat, not her...
"Rache-"
Before I could even begin my apology to... Denis... she lifted the cat to her shoulder and walked over to where Danny was sitting. I wonder what he's up to...
Instead of creating an awkward environment for all of us, I went to separate our two "teachers" from their battle which contained roaring flames and ice sculptures of what possibly could have been a cat with wings... weird.
"Guys, can we just get this training over with?" I nervously rubbed my palm to the opposite shoulder as I asked the squabbling boys.
Grey finally snapped into reality, "Hm? Oh, there really is no training I guess... Just... you have to feel it."
What is this crap?!
"That's not going to save my sister and my friends! We need actual training so we can find each other and do whatever we have to do to get out of here!" I frowned and then noticed all eyes were now on me.
Natsu gulped, "Listen, we just came to help you defeat that Sebastian dude, that's all."
Sebastian? What is going on here?
"Who is Sebastian?" Denis, who had transformed back into his Neko form, took his hand and rubbed it against the top of his head next to his kitty ears as he asked his question.
It's kind of funny when Denis speaks with his Ukrainian accent. Sebas-yan. Haha, how lame.
"Dang it, Natsu! You were supposed to tell them what was going on, you idiot!" Grey face palmed, and then used his fist to punch Natsu right in the jaw.
The pink haired boy growled, "Fine. There is a demon out the-"
"Demon? Great..." Rachel rolled her eyes and put a hand on her hip, "Just what I need..."
"Ahem... As I was saying, the prophecy reads," I could see Denis and Rachel smirk at Danny through the corner of my eye as Natsu spoke of an un-intended song reference, "the demon and the reaper will collect a victim's soul. The angel that once was will be no more. Blah blah blah, we have to defeat him, blah blah blah powers, blah blah blah guitar. The end," Natsu finished with a proud smile.
Danny politely raised a finger to get our attention, "Erm, what about a guitar?"
Grey pointed towards a tree that was visible from the hill we were training at, "Over there, that tree bark was struck by lightning years ago. A guitar was carved out by a unicorns horn, and now it is a powerful weapon of mass destruction and one of you has been chosen to use it."
I looked at all of our empty hands, "Well, we don't have a guitar."
"I do!"
Rachel quickly looked up, "Michael?"
There standing, sure enough, was Michael Clifford with a royal blue guitar strapped around his shoulders.
Michael began to reach for a hug from Rachel, but she quickly backed away.
"Dude! Be careful! Grey just said that thing is dangerous!" She yelled as she took another step backwards with her arms extended between her and Michael.
"OH MY GOD WHAT?" Michael frantically tried to yank the strap over his neck.
I watched as Grey shot a little ice from his finger and froze Michael's arms in the air. "Calm down," He said as he squinted at us, "It effects emotions. That's more powerful than you may think. In fact, the person who made this brought down a whole country with only this guitar... So please, be careful."

My eyes moved from the silver strings to Danny's green eyes which had fear built into them. Without thinking, I slowly inched towards him and grazed my finger tips against knuckles, hoping to bring him some peace. His hand wrapped around mine and squeezed it tight, it was warm but comforting... Suddenly, his grip fell lose and he began to walk towards what looked like a random lump in the unnecessarily long animated grass.

"Danny?" I asked as disappointment fell across his face once he reached his destination, "Is everything okay?

I noticed a tear shed from his now swollen eyes as he picked up a tattooed arm and felt for a pulse in the wrist.

Before I could speak, Rachel shoved her way passed me and crumpled to her knees as her palms covered her mouth. It pained me to see my sister cry like this... It wasn't a sad, or even a depressed cry.... I don't even know how to explain it.

"Austin..." She mumbled as she removed her hands from her face and lifted his head onto her chest, "Austin, you can't die! You can't! I won't let you! You didn't let me and now I have to save y-" She stopped to swallow a sob.

Denis pulled her up for a hug and he threw his arms around her neck, cradling her head against his chest to show her he was the perfect shoulder to cry on.

Maybe this dude isn't so bad...

I watched as her knuckles turned white from clutching to the back of Denis' black t-shirt. I hate seeing others in distress... Austin is dead. We could have saved him!

Danny gave me a concerned glance as he motioned for me to come over to him. I followed his request and bent my torso down to meet his face.

"Payton, this isn't any normal stab wound. It's huge, and right in his chest... Whoever did this knew what they were doing, this is more dangerous than I thought... That pink haired boy never told us anything about murder."

I nodded and tried to swallow my tears, "Yeah... and why would they kill Austin? He... He was the sweetest person... I..." My blurred eyes finally gave way and tears spilled down my cheeks.

"We need to leave now," Grey frowned as he looked at the corpse in front of him, "It's already started."
