No one's POV:
Dr. Huang felt like the world had fallen apart. . .
He couldn't believe it.
After all of this time, after all of the years had gone by, Xavier had feelings for him, after all of the years?
The memory of teenage George and Xavier kissing on a hill viewing the entire farm lands, then George watching his teenage crush leave him all alone to start a new life, over and over and over again.
Dr. Huang hated himself for it.
He hated himself for what he was gonna say next.
"Xavier," George whispered with tears in his eyes.
"What?" Xavier's response.
George shakes his head.
"I can't," George spoke out.
"Are you tired?" Xavier asked in confusion.
"No," George answered.
"I can't say, I love you back. . ." George explained.
Worry and confusion grew on Xavier's face.
"Why?" He slurs his words.
George exhales a breath as he turns his face away.
"I grew out of the feelings for you after you left. . ." George confessed and explained.
"After you left. . those feelings I had for you, were replaced. . with shame. . hurt, and self-loathing. I allow anger, hurt, and self-loathing to get in the way, and it's still haunting me to this day that I cannot return those feelings you have of me now," George continued and explained.
"But if we were in a different parallel universe?" George asked with hurt in his voice.
"It will always be me and you," Xavier finished and explained.
Dr. Huang nodded his head in agreement.
"I guess, I was too late. . ." Xavier said and explained. Xavier places his head on George's forehead as George freezes.
But then suddenly, Xavier let out a sharp gasp as he felt a harsh grab from behind, and Xavier was pinned up against the wall. George's eyes widened as he saw that Dr. Warner was the one who grabbed Xavier by the neck and had the drunken man pinned against the wall, as her teeth gritted with an angry expression on her face.
"Melinda," George cried out as he placed his hand on Dr. Warner's shoulder, but she gently pulled away as her grip on Xavier tightened even more.
"Melinda, stop!" George called out and with a little more force, gently shoved Melinda away from Xavier.
Melinda glares at him.
"What is he doing here?" Melinda growled.
"It's not what it looks like. . ." Xavier said drunkenly.
Melinda glared at Xavier.
"Oh really!?" Melinda barked.
"This idiot is wasted. What is he even doing here?" Melinda asked with her teeth gritted.
George raised his hands to try to calm Melinda down.
"He wanted to explain about the date earlier," George explained calmly.
