Chapter 17: Drive by

I look at my phone and shoot Monster a text asking where she is at. It has been about an hour science they have Been gone and I'm beginning to feel worried. Marshall and I were sitting out back, sipping down an ice cold beer. Marshall got up to adjust some of the wood in the little fire pit.

"You got a lighter? So, I can light up this fire." Marshall said.

"Yeah, here you go." I threw Marshall my White bic lighter. He lit up the fire and threw it back.

"What is taking the girls so long it has been an hour?" Marshall said kinda worried.

"I don't know, I was just thinking that. I sent Ash a text like 5 minutes ago and she hasn't answered."

"Hailie just got her car, they are probably riding around."

"Yeah, well I'm kinda worried. Monster hasn't answered me yet. Wanna go drive down to the pizza shop to see if they are there."

"Sure!" Marshall said. "Can we pick up some beers while we are at it."

"Yeah let's go!"

We jump into my green Chevy and drive out of the driveway.

"It seems like Hailie and Ash seem to get along pretty well."

"Yeah, she told me at the house when We first got there that she only has like one friend. I think Hailie will be a good influence on her."

" For sure. You know Michael we need to find you a girl. Ashley dose need a Mother figure around the house."

"You know Marshall I was thinking about that. But I also thought about my last girl I had and she destroyed me when she cheated on me. I don't that to happen again."

"We will have to just find you the right girl than."

I chuckle a little bit. As I continue to drive I have to pull over because an ambulance zooms past. After it passed I drove about half a mile and there was an major accident being cleaned up.

"Oh my god, Marshall isn't that Hailie's new car?"

"Oh my god!" Marshall screamed. I could he later the fear in his voice. "Stop the damn truck."

Tears slowly ran down his face. Before even got to a compleat stop he jumps out of the car and starts running towards the accident. I stop the truck and run out with Marshall. Hailie's car was completely totaled. We run up to wreck. There were cops and ambulances there already. Marshall ran up to the car tears just flowing down his face. I start walking on the passenger side of the car. Ashley was gone and so was Hailie. I looked at Marshall. We ran up to the cop asking where are girls are he told us they are being rushed to the hospital. We hopped in the truck and speed off. Tears rolling down my face. Mentally praying to god that Ashley and Hailie are ok. I mean come on I had my girl for a day and a half. I see Marshall look at his phone.

"Man, it's gonna be ok we just got to think positive."

"Think positive? You want me to think positive. You saw her car completely crashed." He screamed. "Hailies side of the car was smashed. Completely smashed." He continued crying.

He was right Hailie side of the car was way more smashed up than Ashley's.

Marshall continued again "you just don't get it wolf that's my daughter! My baby girl!" He screamed.

"What? You don't think I'm going threw the same pain my kid was part of that to!"

Marshall looked at me.than turned his head and looked out the window. "What the hell am I going to do if she is gone."

"Man, she will make it."

"Whatever you say Michael! Whatever you say!" He said in a much calmer tone.

We pulled up into the emergency room parking lot. I locked the truck and we both ran up to the building. We walked in the office and we talked to the lady at the desk. We cut in front of the line of three other people.

"I need to see my kid now!" Marshall screams

"Sir, please calm down." Said the lady with the name tag Barb. "What are you gentlemens names?"

"The hell does it matter I wont to see my daughter!" Marshall screamed about to cry again.

"You need to calm down or I'm going to have to ask you to leave." Barb said.

"Marsha man go sit down and I'll deal with this."

"This can't be happening!!" Marshall screamed and ran into the bathroom.

"I'm dearly sorry umm... Barb." I said.

"Oh sweetie it's ok. What are you twos names?"

"Um, that was Marshall Bruce Mathers III. I'm Michael Wayne Atha. We are hear to see Hailie Jade Scott-Mathers and Ashley Renee Atha."

"Oh yes! Yours and his date of birth and I will show you your way." She smiled.

"Um.." I was so worried I couldn't think. "Uh.. Mine is December 30. His is October 17 I believe now can I see my girl!"

Marshall came out and stood by me he was looking very rough.

"You alright man?"

He just nodded his head.

"Hailie Jade Scott-Mathers is in room 246. Ashley Renee Atha is in room 248."

We went up one level using the elevator. Marshall and I go our separate ways even tho we are a cross the hallway from each other. I see Ashley and I cry. I run up to her and hug her she was sleeping but I don't care.

"Monster your ok."

The doctor walked in as I was doing that. "Your right she is ok. She has a minor concussion and a few cuts and bruises. She should be leaving today. We still want to watch her. We are slightly worried because she has only woken up over everything she does she yells and we Have to calm her down."

The doctor walked over to the bed and started waking her up. She opens her eyes and sat up.

"Dad!" She screamed.

She tried to get up but she couldn't because of all of the wires she was hooked up to. So I walked over and gave her a hug. Than I hear her whisper. "Hailie no!" She starts screaming for Hailie and she wouldn't stop. After about a minute and we got her to calm down. I explained that she was ok. But to be completely honest I wasn't sure if she was ok. I asked the doctor about Hailie and he said he can't say anything about her. So for the next two hours me and Ashley watched tv. Than we fell asleep.

A lot is happening and its gonna get better I promise I hope you all like this chapter. Sorry I haven't updated in forever I feel so bad. But this chapter I couldn't figure out how to make it better so it took some time but now it is here! So vote comment and message me please.
