Chapter 21

Hannah and I went up to my bed room and hung out for a bit we talked about life and how it was going. I told her about meeting Marshall and all that happen. It was about 5 o'clock when she left. I was home alone so I decided to take a nap.

When I woke up nobody was home and it was about six o clock. I figured my dad would be home but he wasn't. I got kinda worried so I called him.. The first time it went straight to the voicemail. I worried a little more so I called again. It rang two times and went to voice mail. Why isn't he answering. I scrolled threw my contacts and found Travis Barkers number.

"Hello? Who is this?" Travis said.

"It's Ash! Where is my dad he should be home by now. He won't answer any of my calls. I'm getting worried. Where is he Travis?"

"Ash, he is alright he is on his way to the hospital in Detroit, I'm actually on my way to your house now to watch you."

"What do you mean he is in the Detroit hospital. Is it Hailie? Why didn't he tell me?"

"Ash, I'm fifteen minutes away from your house I will let you ask questions when I get there okay?"

"Okay. The front door isn't locked so come right in."

"Alright, love yah, see you soon."

"Love you to, bye."

I hung up the phone and went into the kitchen. I was worried but I calmed down. I went into the fridge and got out the box pizza and threw it in the oven. I later on the couch and wondered what had happen. Was it Hailie. I desided to call her, but just like my dad it went to voice mail. I laid on the couch for about five minutes scrolling threw Instagram and I figured I should get my cloths for my first day of school ready. I go down stairs and I hear Travis yell out "Yo Ash I'm here."

"I'm in the living room come on in." Travis walks in and sits on the couch.

"Hey girl how has wolf been to yah?"

"He is great. He is really nice to me and he is an amazing dad."

"That's good. So about your dad and why he is in Detroit right now. I don't know much detail so I'm going to tell you what I know. First, your dad won't be here for three days. Alright so yesterday I'm not for sure who but someone found Marshall in his bed last night. He was very pale so they brought him to the emergency room. The doctors say that he relapsed..."

"I can't believe that Marshall has been sober for so long. This..this can't be possible. Why would he do this?"

"Well last night Michael was texting him and all and he seemed fine. Marshall got a call from the hospital last night after he was done talking to your dad and the doctor said that Hailie may have brain damage."

"What? No. No. No. No. When will we get results on Hailie and Marshall.?"

"Well on my way here your dad called and he said Marshall will be ok but he is having a few problems so he will be in the hospital for three days. Hailie right now just got out of surgery and she is alright but she will have problems in the future. She knows about her father and isn't happy about it."

"Okay thank you Travis but tomorrow is my first day of school and allot has happen today so I'm going to go to bed. Thank you for staying with me for the few days. There is a lot of food in the fridge and you can sleep in the Spare room up stairs."

"Thanks sis." Travis said.

I walked o the front door and locked it and went up to my room. Put on my sweat pants and my Nike sweat shirt. I laid in my bed and looked up at the ceiling and slowly stiffed of to sleep.
