I was in my room. Guess what? Alone. As per usual. I think I should just go home now If I'm not going to anything here. I walk out into the living rom. "Out from your cave, are you?" Dick looked at me. He was standing next to Roy, who just happened to be here. I roll my eyes and sit down on the couch between them. The two sat right next to me. "Whatcha doin?" Dick smiled. I sigh for the 30th time today. "Listen, I've had a long day." "Doing what, flirting with Wally?" Dick muttered. I slap him upside the head. "Shut up bird brain." Why did I leave my room? They were all vultures wanting to eat you alive with conversation. We hear footsteps and turn around to see the man of the hour. Wally. Except without Jinx on his arm. "Where's your girlfriend?" I ask him with a glare. "Shes.Not.My.Girlfriend." he glares back. "So basically, you just make out every 5 seconds. Is that it?" I smile evilly at him. "Ooooooooo." The boys echo. They were on my side I guess. Or just spectating another one of our fights. "Its not like that!" he growls. I stand up. "Then explain to me why she's here!" I hiss crossing my arms. Wally takes a deep breathe. "Can I talk to you?" he looks to my back ups, Roy and Robin sitting on the couch. "ALONE." There was a moment of silence. "Yeah, yeah." Roy and Robin mutter walking down the hall. Wally steps closer to me. "What was that about!?" he asked me trying to stay calm. "Listen. It was a mistake I stepped an inch outside my room. I should be going." I sigh trying to budge past him. He really was Wall Man, he wouldn't let me leave. "Why don't you like Jinx?" he looks at me with those eyes. How could I not? "I never said I didn't." I tell him. He squinted at me. "Shut up. Now tell me why." he ordered. I sighed. 32nd time. "I don't know wally, SHES BAD LUCK!?" I shout. "Jinx is nice, and sweet. And she's changed. She's not bad luck!" he argues. "...SHE'S A VILLIAN!" I hiss. "What's your problem!?" his tone had changed. I feel tears threatening to pour. "I'll...talk to you later Wally." I say walking down the hallway holding myself. Again I shut the door and lock it. I didn't want to yell at him anymore.
-----Wally's POV-----
I don't understand what she's so upset about it. What's wrong with Jinx? Is there something I don't know about? It's not like she really cared about who I liked, and disliked. And why does she care if I'm Jinx's boyfriend or not? All of the sudden Jinx walks down the hall and bats her eyes. "Hey handsome." she winks. See, Artemis never does that. She doesn't like me... but Jinx does. And I like her too. "Listen, am I your b-b-boyfriend?" I ask stuttering. "Sure! If you want to." she whispers putting her hand on my chest and kissing me on the cheek. "By the way, the Gills guy wants you in the mission room." she says walking away. "It's aqua lad." I whisper. I look to Artemis's door. Slowly I walk up to it. What if she bit my head off? I stay quiet for a minuet. I swear I could hear her crying! And she never cry's! I knock on the door. "Artemis?!" I ask sympathetically. "Go away wally." she sniffled. "Artemis can we talk?" I ask still standing at the door. There was a moment of silence until the door opens the crack. "You have 30 seconds to speak. Go." she says through the door. I look at her grey, pretty, beautiful eyes. I can see she was trying to hide that she was crying. "23 seconds." she stares at me. "Oh yeah, right." I smile and nod my head. "We should get going to the mission room? It's an emergency." I grin at her. She doesn't move a muscle nor does her face. She stared at me annoyed. "Okay." she replied plainly. I knew what she wanted. I don't think she deserved it though. She wanted an apology. And yes she was crying, but unless she told me why she doesn't like jinx. I wasn't going to apologized. I walk down the hallway and made my way to the specific room. She didn't deserve my apology.
-----------Artemis POV----------
I stare at him walking down the hallway. I wanted to choke him so bad right now. And then again I wanted to hug him. Hug him? Where did that come from? He was just a stupid pest in my life that I didn't care for. And I never will. I walked behind him. From a distance.
Wally stood next to Jinx. I stood next to Dick. "Listen team, Black beetle is making a drug trade of Kobra to an unknown client." Batman explained staring at us, next to a screen. He starts typing into a tablet. "Researching the cordents, we found its location in starling city." We all look at each other. "Apparently, its an abandoned building in the glades." he added. "Jinx, are you coming along?" M'egan asked kindly. My skin crawled when I heard her name. "Oh no, I'm just here to visit Wally." she smiled. This time I rolled my eyes. At least she said visit. "Actually, that might not be a bad idea." Batman nodded his head. "We could use someone with powers like yours." he crossed his arms. "What powers? Bad luck?" I mutter. She glares at me. "What's yours, being a complete brat?" she batted her eyes. "OOOO." the team snaps. "Oh wait, I forgot you don't have any." she grins. The team turns their head to me. My face turns as red as red tomato. I was about to claw her eyes out. "I don't need powers." I stated trying to stay calm. "You're right, you have your bow...except from what I saw today, you don't have anything else than that bow." she grinned again. I curl my hand into a fist. "You don't have anything other than your stupid bad luck, oh wait...you do have that irritating voice that makes people want to cover their ears." I smile and bat my eyes. "OOO!" The team echo's again. Wally looked mad. "Enough!" Batman yelled at us. "Artemis, If your not going to be a team player don't come." Wally stared at me disappointed. My heart...hurt. There was no emotion in that sentence EXSCEPT disappointment. I don't know why I cared though, why? The room went silence. I mutter a few curse words under my breathe. "Alright, don't confront them, just observe. You may go. Good luck." batman looked at me like he was plainly saying I was going to screw up this mission. Everyone had walked out of the room giving me disappointing glances. Even Wally. And in my soul I kind of felt bad. But its not my fault if someone had called me something, and I rightfully defended myself. Especially since no one backed me up. Hence 'self defense'! When everyone walked out of the room Robin stopped and put his hand on my shoulder. "Don't regret anything you said. Its all true." he assured me. I nod my head. "Why didn't you back me up?" I ask him. He smeared a smile on his face. "To busy laughing." he smiled. And with that he walked off with the others. He was pretty smart for a 14 year old. Especially when it came to talking to people. And reading people. ...And everything else. I mean, other than his sense of humor, he was pretty chill. He cared. And always concentrated on the mission. He was meant to be this teams leader. I follow them into the garage and board M'egan's ship. But lets just say I wasn't just a bit 'pissed off' , when I saw Jinx sitting in my seat. I tried to be reasonable. I tried to be nice. But lets face it, she wasn't worth me trying. "Comfortable?" I ask sarcastically. She looks up at me as she gets comfortable. "Very." she smiled. Wally looked at the 2 of us. I turn my head to look into his eyes. I knew what he was thinking. That she wasn't worth it. And he was right. But that was MY seat. "You can sit next to me." he offered. Jinx's jaw drops, and I was very pleased with this moment. Jinx stands up and walks over to him like he asked her. "Of course." she batted he eyes. I smiled more than usual. At least I got my seat back.
