I had put my hair back in a ponytail. Apparently today was the day that me and Wally would zoom back home through time travel... never actually thought that was possible but hey, I know a girl from a different planet and a man in his late 30's that dresses up like a bat at night because his parents were killed when he was young... ok maybe that's too far Artemis. Anyway like I was saying I guess there's a lot of pressures on Wally's shoulders to get us both back home at the right time and right speed... well technically I guess the pressures all on his legs. I need to stop hanging out with him, his jokes are spreading to me like a disease. I should also stop hanging out with Wally because - HE BRINGS ME A CENTURY INTO THE FUTRE!
While I was thinking about everything, Wally and Bart were sharing scientific hypothesis.
"Yeah but running at that velocity would equal..." Wally paused. "299,792,456 miles per seconds!" They shouted at the same time. "English?" I ask them both.
"We can't get back at a specific time without running into a few... glitches." Wally explains giving a glance to Wally Jr.
"What kind of glitches?" I give wally a stern look. I was always the one in charge, and usually everything would go smoothly. Now its me and Wally and Bart working together and only 1 out of the 3 of us are only street smart.
"Maybe... it could be possible... you could run into ANOTHER dimension, or a different time then you expected." Bart explained too.
"So... we can't get home?" I stare at them with a tinge of fear causing me to choke up. "Calm down, its just a small... tiny... 50 percent chance." Bart tries to assure me. I look to Wally in panic, while he gave me a reassuring look. I take a deep breath and stare at wally.
God he's good at that, calming me down... except sometimes he can make me the exact opposite of calm, but for the most part he- he just - I don't know. Makes me feel... protected? In a way? Safe.
"I have to increase my speed at rate of 146 519 902 per second... never mind. Just trust me. I'll get us home." Wally nodded.
I'm glad he stopped talking when he did, because I didn't know what the hell he was talking about.
"So what if we did run into another like... dimension or something?" I ask them. "Then you try again." Bart smiles. He grins exactly like Wally, it's cute.
"Whatever you say Bill Nye the science guys." I roll my eyes.
"So when are we trying this? I want to go home." Wally whined.
"Tonight I guess, so no ones around." I look to Wally and he looks to me. We were staring at each other again and I noticed that Wally had this look in his eyes that was hard to read, but from what I could tell he looked homesick and scared about something. Nevertheless, he was hiding it somehow behind those eyes. Too bad I can always see right through him.
"What day are we getting back exactly?" I ask drawing circles into the table with my finger.
"The day you met jinx." Wally told me. I look up a bit surprised.
"What, I said I wanted a redo." he shrugged with a slight smirk on his face. "And I want to see you fight jinx over me." He smirked harder. I roll my eyes.
