CHAPTER 4

I squeezed my eyes shut. Oh God this isn't happening right now. I slowly opened my eyes seeing Zayn standing there awkwardly. After Liam decided to leave us alone and be a "love doctor".

"Ohk class settle down and look for a lab partner" our chemistry teacher informed us. I quickly looked around for Lilly. I saw her with Niall at the other side of the room. She gave me an apologetic look and mouthed the words "Niall is my lab partner". Great. Who else would want to be my lab partner? "I would love to be your lab partner Lila" Zayn said with a chuckle. I gave him a confused look.

"Lila you were thinking aloud".He said once again with a chuckle.

I instantly felt the blush against my cheeks.

"Settle down, settle down class" our chemistry teacher said trying to get our attention. "Ohk class by now you should all have a partner" he informed us. " Look at your partner closely, because this will be your partner for the whole semester". Zayn quickly pretended he was checking me out with googly eyea eyeing me up and down. I let out a loud laugh catching everyone's attention in the class. All eyes were on me including our teachers. "Its my fault i was the one who caused her to laugh" Zayn quickly stated. "Well well since when did this class become a flirting one Mr.Malik?" He questioned Zayn."You really can't blame me" He said turning around and looking straight at me. "Ohk that earns you detention Mr.Malik!" He shouted angrily.

I couldn't let Zayn do this. "You can't just give him detention for a stupid reason like that!". I shouted. I wasn't thinking straight with all the adrenaline running trough my body right now. Ohk i could see everyones burning eyes on me. "Is that so Mrs.Stewart? Guess that earns you detention too!". He shouted back. "What?" I shakily asked now realizing what i had just done. "You heard me now both of you out of my classroom! And see y'all both in detention afterschool for the rest of the week!". Me and Zayn both walked out of the classroom, me behind him.

"Great! I said sarcastically. Now what?"

"I don't know. Just detention for the rest of the week i guess". He said calmly.

"How can you be so calm?! My mum is going to kill me! I've never gotten in trouble like this before" i said pacing back and forth in the hallway.

" I can tell, and just relax its not that bad". He said.

" I guess youre right. Maybe i am being over the top about this".

"Ya think?!" He said with a smirk.

"Hey!" I said, playfully punching him on the shoulder.

" Hey" he said changing the subject. I looked at him with all my attention.

"Can i ask you a question?"He asked.

"Sure, yeah of course". I confidentaly said.

"Why did you defend me like that back in the lab?" He curiously asked. His eyes making contact with mine.

"Umm i don't really know. I guess i just didn't think it was fair. And plus i always stick up for a friend". I checkily smiled and winked at him before making my way to my next class.

Zayn's POV:

Lila Stewart. Why couldn't i get this girl out of my head?! She was so beautiful with her long brown hair and her beautiful chocolate brown eyes just like mine. She was the definition of perfect. The way she was so insecure of herself made her more beautiful in my eyes. Truth is i had always had a crush on her since elementary school. I still do. We were actually best friends until Jennifer, Sierra, Lilly, and Riley came along at the end of elementary school. I always loved the way she was so relaxed and laid back. That's the one thing i love about her. But im not the only one crushing on her right now. Josh is too. He has ever since him and her had to do a photography project at the end of last year which required them to spend some time together. Him and me as well have fallen deeply for Lila, and he has to know that.
