Chapter 28: The message.

Lila's POV:

Its been a week since we've been back. Today was Jace's funeral. I didn't completely remember that much of him but the memories i did remember of him proved me that he was indeed a good friend of mine.

Zayn has been avoiding me as he said he would. It was hard since we had most classes together. But Josh has stayed there by my side. Maybe everyone was right and Josh was the right guy for me. He was always there for me, he got along with my family,he was charming, sweet, romantic and very attractive. But i just..couldn't compare him with Zayn. How i felt about Zayn was completely different. His eyes just mesmerized me each time i would look into them. And he was just like the prince charming of a perfect fairy-tale. But i don't think i saw Zayn as that anymore.

"Honey! Josh is here!" Mum called out.

"Coming!" i yelled while running down the stairs. Jelly Bean came out of nowhere and i almost tripped over him.

"Hi!" i greeted Josh who was at the end of the stairs.

"Hey babe" he smirked.

"Umm well let's go!" i said while walking out with him.

As soon as we got to the church were the funeral was gonna take place, it was full of people. Jace had lots of family here so that basically explains why the place is packed.

Me and Josh made our way to the entrance of the huge church but were blocked by something disturbing. Zayn and Hayley were making out.

"Umm excuse me" Josh said politely.

Zayn backed away from Hayley and noticed us. Our eyes locked together, i quickly looked away to stop the tears from showing. We walked past them and Josh noticed the couple of tears that had managed to escape my eyes. He simply frowned and hugged me.

"Josh i love you" i whispered in his ear.

"I will always love you more" he said while pulling away from the hug and kissing my small hands.

"Lila is that you?!" I heard a faint voice.

I looked in the direction of the voice and saw it was Case one of Jace's friends.

"Hey. Haven't seen you in a while. But im sad we had to meet in these circumstances" he frowned.

"Lila I've been looking all over for you!" Sierra pouted while walking up to our small group. She instantly locked eyes with Case.

Maybe i should introduce them.

"Umm Case this is my friend Sierra, Sierra this is Case" i said trying to make it not awkward.

The ceromony was long with many tears throughout it. I also shed my own. I was exhausted by the time it was done. A few of us had stayed after the ceremony to help with the arrangements and set up.

Me and Josh had to pick up some flower vases and bring the up to the attic of the church.

"You know i never noticed how hot you look in that tux" i cheekily winked at him. We had already finished putting all the vases up and were heading back to his car.

"Aha! thanks and my beautiful girl looks stunning as usual" Josh put his arm around my waist. I pecked his soft lips.

"Im exhausted" i whined.

"Wanna sleep over at my place?"

"Sure! But i need to go get my clothes"

"You can just borrow some of mine" he winked.

"Hey! nothing else is happening! so keep your perverted mind away!"

"Fine. Let's go rent some movies then" he said while opening the car door for me.

We drove off to Blockbuster. I decided to let Josh pick the movie and wait in the car. After a while of waiting i felt like if i was being watched. I began to start getting creeped out. I looked around for the pair of eyes i felt on me. I turned and saw a familiar figure but couldn't tell who it was. Maybe it's...

No! it can't be!

My thoughts were interrupted as Josh came back and got in the car.

"What film did you rent?" i asked trying to ignore the fact of what i had just seen.

"The Avengers!" he cheered.

"Great!" i felt the weird gaze dissapear.

We left the Blockbuster parking lot and were half way back to Josh's place. When Josh suddenly stopped.

"Ugh i forgot to get some snacks!" he whined.

"I'll just drop you off at my place and go get some snacks ok?"

"I wanna go with you" i feared of staying alone now.

"Ohk. I see you wanna spend time with me nonstop dontcha!" he arched his eyebrow.

I shrugged my shoulders playfully and looked down at my phone. Hmm I have a new message.

"Im watching you. I will find the right time to get you. And don't be so close to him" read the message from the unknown number. I threw my phone out of my hands.

"Lila are you ok?" Josh said while looking away from the road and holding my hand and then paying attention to the road again.

What was I supposed to say? Should i just tell him? Maybe this was just a silly joke from someone i thought trying not to be terrified of the worse.

"Yeah, yeah i just forgot that-that i had to -umm give the cat a bath!" i said as convincingly as i could.

"Oh its not that big of a deal right? i mean we had the funeral today" he stated puzzled.

"No yeah it's fine i just forgot!" i nervously laughed. Good job Lila! just make it more obvious than it already is. I mentally face palmed.

We finally got to our nearest grocery market.

As soon as i got out of the car i stayed as close as i could to Josh.

The message flashed back to me.

"Don't be so close to him". I instantly backed away from him.

He quickly noticed my odd behavior.

"Babe, are you sure you're ok? You don't seem like it. What did message really say?" he asked me with worry written all over his face. He held my face in his hands.

I couldn't lie to him. I took my phone out of my purse and opened the message and handed him my phone. He had a frown on his face but as he read it a look of fear and worry struck his face.

"Oh Lila don't worry everything is gonna be ok alright. And i will make sure you stay safe" he assured me.

"I know you will Josh. But maybe this is just some kind of silly prank. We can't over react like this" i said trying to convince him not to worry.

"Even if it is or isn't. You have to stay safe. Got it? im not taking you for granted"

"And that's why i love you Josh. I don't think there's any one out there better for me than you" i said while placing my arms around his neck and embracing him in a hug.

"And that's why i need to stop loving you" Zayn walked away. He couldn't stand being in the same room as both Josh and Lila. He never meant anything he said to Lila back at the airport. Only one thing. To stop loving her and stop hurting himself....
