Sydney's POV
"Is she awake?"
"No, I don't think so."
"Well, have you tried shaking her?!"
"Duh. You know, for the oldest you aren't that smart."
"Shut up. Just wake her up before Dad comes in and gets mad."
I turned over in the bed and was greeted with the face of Zane glaring at Annabeth. Chuckling quietly I closed my eyes and pretended to be sleep before they realized I was indeed awake.
"Don't tell me what to do and I'm telling Dad you told me to shut up, again."
"No! Don't! Last time he took my Xbox. Please, just help me wake her up."
It was quiet for a moment before the sound of small feet padded against the wooden floor and stop.
"DAD! HELP." I heard Annabeth scream at the top of her lungs and wondered why she was doing this.
Not before long the sound of heavy feet and panting was welcomed into the room along with the smell of a strong cologne that must have been foreign.
"What's wrong Annabeth? " He sounded worried as he talked to her.
"Oh, nothing much Dad. Sydney won't wake up and we've tried everything," innocence was basically dripping from her sweet little voice as she knew she could get in trouble.
There was a pause before he let out a frustrated sigh. "Alright, kids. Go get ready and I'll wake her up myself."
They ran out the room and either Zane closed the door behind him or Alek did because I heard the sound of the latch click into place.
"You know, you're just making this hard on yourself by being a heavy sleeper," he said as he walked closer to me.
All I could do was turn over again so this time I was face the edge of the bed.
"But it's okay. I know what will wake you up."
I could hear him walking away from me, but to where? Dear lord! Was he going to kill me? Maybe I should stop pretending before he does something harmful to me. But I couldn't stop pretending. Something inside of me wanted to know exactly what he was going to do.
After a bit, his scent hit my nose again letting me know he made his was back to me.
"Sydney. Wake up. This is the last time anyone going to try,"
I pretend to stir a little bit, but I didn't show any sign of 'waking' up.
"Suit yourself."
Something cold hit my side first in little drips before what felt like a whole bucket of water was poured out to me. Screaming loudly I popped up with wide eyes only to find him grinning devilishly at me.
"Good morning, sunshine. How did you sleep?"
"What is your problem!? That isn't how you wake a person up!" I threw the soaked covers off me and stood in his face until we were practically nose to nose.
He rolled his eyes and threw the bucket over his shoulder as if it was nothing. Ignoring my question/statement he turned around and headed to the door. "We have an interview later on, the one I was telling you about and you need to fix that."
