Sydney's POV
I tapped my knee as I looked out the window. At the moment, I was sitting in the back of the Black SUV that Alek came in. My mother was on the other side and Alek was stuck between us as his personal driver sped to his house.
"This is weird. Don't the paps usually follow you around. Where are they now?" I raised an eyebrow and turned to him.
"Well, I promised a public announcement in about," he looked down at his phone and whistled, "sixteen hours. That gives you enough time to meet everyone and fix that." He gestured to all of me and I rolled my eyes.
I decided to look out the window until I heard a loud slap and turned around to see Alek rubbing the back of his head while my Mother looked out the window with a grin plastered on her face.
"No one talks about my baby like that," she mumbled under her breath.
We pulled up to a black gate that automatically opened for us and we began to drive up to a house. By then I had shut my eyes and tried to envision the people inside.
"Florence, we're here."
I opened my eyes and my mouth dropped open at the beautiful house in front of me. The top of the house hand a black roof and was design almost like a castle. The stone on the house was a beautiful tan and white color that complimented the glass windows that was in the room of each level. Black curtains hung in front of them hiding everyone else out from the world, only a couple were open and a light was emitting from them. I walked up the stairs and ran my hand up the marble staircase before getting to the door. It was twins doors that were made up of glass but were black and had silver crested doorknobs.
"Is this really your house?" I turned to him shock then turned back to the house.
I knew this man was rich, but holy hell, this house looked hella expensive.
"Close your mouth before flies get into it," his whispered into my ears causing me to shiver as his warm breath tickled my skin.
He began to walk up the stairs with me on his heel, when he reached the top the doors flew open and a maid bowed to him before stepping to the side to let us in.
"Thank you, Simone." He said and a monotone voice and continued to walk.
"You're welcome Mr. Sidorov." She purred out before turning to me and when I say her face changed, it was like this bitch had on The Mask.
"Can I help you?" She raised her penciled in eyebrow at me and crossed her arms over her chest.
"Yeah, you can get out my way for starters." I stood a few inches away her, but I was still close enough to smell her cheap perfume.
"And if I don't?" She leaned back on one foot and stood into the doorway more.
"Oh honey, you don't wann.-"
I was cut off when a strong hand wrapped around my wrist and pulled me pass Simone, in which I gladly shoved pass her and stuck my tongue out.
"Simone, this is my wife. You disrespect her again and you're fired." He said as he stood there with me in front of him.
