Jared P.O.V.
I stood there with a stone face as I looked Alek who gave the same expression back.
"I guess I'll go first, Jared, what do you want?" Alek came closer to me and slipped his hands in his pockets.
I smiled at him and shrugged. "Do you really think my boss was going to let you go with her, by yourself, do you not remember what you told him?"
Alek straightened himself out before walking towards me. "That isn't the only reason you're here, Valentine."
I rolled my tongue around in my mouth before smiling at him." So you know who I truly am. I was wondering when you'd put two and two together."
"I always knew but since your little brother looks so much like you why not use him. Right? I'm surprised, at least Jarrod did beat cancer and looks healthy," he tilted his head to the side.
I opened my mouth to say something else but Sydney came out and look between us.
Sydney's POV
I gripped the sink and tried to steady my breathing. I couldn't stand that man. He didn't scare me, but it was something about him that made me back down. I didn't want to challenge him..Was I afraid too? I just said I wasn't.
I splashed some water on my face and looked at myself. I wasn't happy and it was evident, but how could I be? I am with a real monster. All the things he's willing to do to hurt me is endless.
I grabbed a towel and wiped my face and walked out the bathroom to see Jared and Alek having a stare down.
"I'm okay Jay, let's go. I'm pretty sure Alek has work he needs to get done. Maybe we can find someone to show us around," I gave Jared half a smile as I walked over to him.
Before I could reach him I felt two arms wrap around me and pull me back.
Looking up, I already knew it was Alek, but why did he have to be extra when it comes to other men? He doesn't even like me so this is so unnecessary and annoying.
"Actually, MY, dear wife, we have a dinner to attend to tonight so go in the other room and rest. To be honest, you look like you need it," he turned me around in his arms and smiled wickedly down at me.
Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes before nodding and trying to move out his arms.
"I'm not done. Be ready by 8 PM because if you aren't I'll help you get ready. Okay?" I made the mistake of looking up in his eyes and saw the lightness die out and the storm start to approach again.
Jared cleared his throat which caused Alek's eyes to snap away from mine and look at Jared. He dropped his arms and I moved out of them as fast as I could. Turning around, I looked at Jared who sent me a smile and nodded towards the door for me to go. I walked out the room as fast as my two legs would carry me and made it into the bedroom quickly.
I locked the door as soon as I got in the room and went to sit on the bed. I looked around for my purse as I figured the staff would have moved my things. Finding it on the chair I pulled out my phone and looked at my Mother's number. I hesitated before pressing it and putting the phone to my ear.
