It's been 5 months. Regina and Cara are still dating. Karlie and I are 'dating'. She's never around. It's almost 11 am. I got up and went downstairs, seeing Regina and Cara cuddling on the couch watching The Lucky One. I bit my lip and went to the kitchen. I started a pot of coffee. "Morning." I heard Regina mumble. I turned around and she smiled. "Yeah." I said. She bit her lip. "How are you?" She asked. I shrugged. "Fine. You?" I asked. She looked away. "I'm fine." She said. I nodded. "We were supposed to get back together." I mumbled. She shot her head up to me. I just smiled weakly and nodded. "Emma... I came back for you and you were kissing Karlie. She abused you. And yet you still chose her over me." She said. I shook my head and walked over to her. I pulled her into my arms and kissed her passionately. After awhile, we pulled away. "You wanna tell me those sparks are there when you kiss Cara?" I asked. She swallowed visibly and bit her lip. "Emma you need to get off me." She said. "No. Regina please." I said. "No. You need to get off me before my girlfriend sees." She spit. I let go of her and she sighed. "Emma, I would've taken you back in an instant. You were my forever. But now? You're with her. And I'm with Cara. Your best friend. You can't betray her like this." She spit. I scoffed. "Me? Betraying her? Bullshit. She's the one who betrayed me. Stealing the love of my life." I spit. "You chose Karlie." She spit and left the kitchen. I took a deep breath before grabbing my phone from my pocket. I called Karlie. "Hey Em. We need to talk. I'm glad you called." "Oh. Okay. What's up?" "We need to break up." "We what?" "Sorry Emma. I can't pretend anymore. I don't love you Emma." "You don't..?" "No. And I know you don't love me. So, be happy." "I can't be. Regina's with Cara." "Win her back." "It doesn't work like that." "Why not." "Because. She's with Cara." "So?" "I can't get her to cheat on my best friend with me." "Emma, if Cara was really your friend, would she have gone after Regina?" "I just want Regina happy." "You can make her happy." "Yeah." "I hope we can still be friends." "Me too." "Bye Em." She hung up and I sighed. Regina wouldn't ever cheat on Cara. I went up to my room and laid down in bed. I stared at the ceiling.

After awhile, Cara came upstairs. "Hey.. Me and Regina were about to go to lunch." She said. "K." I answered. "What's wrong?" She asked. "Karlie dumped me." I mumbled. "Em.. I'm so sorry." She said. I shrugged. She came and laid down on my bed with me. She pulled me into her arms and I cried. "What's going on?" Regina asked and came in. "Karlie broke up with Emma." Cara said. "Oh. I'm sorry Emma.. Why don't you come to lunch with us?" Regina asked. "No. I'm good." I said. "Come on. It'll be fun." Cara said and got up. "Fine." I mumbled and sat up. They smiled and left the room. I wiped my tears away and changed into jeans and a hoodie, then went downstairs. "Ready?" Cara asked. I nodded and we left.

After an awkward lunch and movie, we went home. And boy was I glad. Third wheeling with your ex and best friend is awkward as fuck. I went to my room and changed into a bikini, then went to the backyard. I got in the pool and just floated around. "Hey.." I heard Regina's voice after about an hour. "Hey." I said. She came and sat at the edge of the pool, only putting her feet in. "Im sorry about Karlie." She said. I shrugged. "Did you love her?" She asked. I shook my head no. She nodded and looked away. "I'm sorry I went on the tour." I said. She nodded. "Me too." She said. I nodded and got out of the pool. I grabbed my towel and dried off before running to my studio. I grabbed my guitar and set the camera on the tripod. "Hey guys. So, I have a new song I've been working on. I hope you guys like it." I said. I started strumming the tune and took a deep breath.
