"Kief! Musta? Pasalubong ko?"

"Kief, congrats!"

"Galing-galing naman..."

My friends are here, and they are talking in unison, asking questions. It's fun to see them and listen to their chatter. We settled on a table reserved for us, and we're definitely ready for dinner.

During the course of the meal, there was so much bantering and reminiscing, of pranks and funny moments. After a while, we decided to get the party started, and we shared these over beer and oh-so-yummy-but-deadly-meaty treats.

Then the interrogation started:

"So, Kief, wala na talaga kayo ni Mika?" Greg asked, while passing another bottle of beer to Jhona.

"Yeah, wala na. Naka-move on na ako," I declared, while putting some more sisig on my plate.

"Ba't ganun? Ang bilis naka-move on?" Jhona asked, wiping the mouth of the beer bottle with a tissue.

"Siguro may iba na, ano?" Bangs kidded, reaching for a bottle of beer.

"Ganun talaga basta decided ka na. Kung wala na, bakit ka pa maghihinagpis? Ginusto namin pareho na tapusin na. So wala na," I explained.

"Di ako makapaniwala! Madaling sabihin, Kief, pero most of the time, mahirap gawin!" Jhona persisted.

"Ibahin niyo ako..." I joked, when I heard the notification on my phone. I reached for it, and saw Alyssa's Viber message to the group. It seems she and Solty and Ate Rach were on a roll again.

"Teka lang... ba't pansin ko iba ang aura natin, Kief? Kakagaling mo lang sa heartbreak, di ba dapat nakamukmok ka pa rin?" Greg pointed out, trying out the pork chop.

I did not notice that I was actually smiling. I looked at them, and they seem to be questioning my happy mood. What was it again?

Greg was waving his fork, as if asking me to answer his question.

"Sorry. Ano yun ulit, guys?" I asked, putting my phone back in my pocket.

"Iba na yan, Kief... Nawawala sa sarili, nakangiti after a heartbreak..." Jhona said.

"Teka, sino ba ang nagtext?" Bangs asked, her eyes focused on me.

"Huh? Wala. Si ano lang... si Aly..."

"Aly? Alyssa? Si Valdez?" Greg asked, his brows raised. He looked at Bangs and they seem to pass a secret message between them.

"Uh... oo. Bakit?"

"Sana wag mong masamain, Kief, pero pansin namin na parang may something between you and Alyssa. Meron nga ba?" Greg asked, taking a mouthful of the pork chop on his plate.

Just then, I heard my phone ring. I excused myself, and answered Aly's call.

"Hi, Ly!" I said, my spirits raised higher than the usual.

"Kuyakuuuuuuuy!" Solty screamed at the mouthpiece. I had to move the phone away from my ear for a moment. That hurts, but it made me smile all the same. I transferred the phone to my other ear.

"Kapatid, naman... di pa ako bingi... naririnig kita loud and super loud," I said, massaging my other ear.

"Antayin mo kami bukas ha? Kitakits tayo ha? Wag ka muna umuwi, promise mo yan?" she screamed, hyperactive as usual.

"Opo, opo. I'll still be here by tomorrow. Siyempre, ito-tour pa kita!" I said.

"Sige, Kuyakoy, aasahan ko yan ha? Eto si Ate Aly..." Solty said, and I could hear them talking but I could not decipher what they are saying. "'Wag na daw pala, Kuya. I-end ko na daw ang call."
