"Besh, do you have the Chris Brown tickets?"
I was busy sorting out my schedule and looking through the contracts that Momager just presented to me when I heard my phone ring, and it was Denden.
"Uhm, not sure if I'm going though, Besh. I just don't know how I could fit everything in my schedule..."
"Come on, Alyssa! It will be fun! When was the last time you went out on a concert? We even missed Ed Sheeran's..."
"Besh, I don't want to go third wheeling again... it has never been fun, even on a concert..."
I heard Denden laugh, and say, "Make sure Ella is not around. There's gonna be hell to pay..."
I laughed as well. Ella has been complaining of how often she is third wheeling, and how it could get annoying at times. Well, I just don't mind third wheeling, but there are just days when I just don't want to feel so alone and left out.
"Maybe I should just ask Ella to come and watch the Chris Brown concert with me. Heck! Just the thought about me and Ella going to that concert is as bad as third wheeling!" I said, laughing.
"Boo! Such a killjoy! Anyway, LA and I are going, so if you want to..."
"NO!!! Den! Just the idea of me tailing you love birds is depressing enough!"
"Then what happened to Kiefer?"
"What about Kiefer?"
"Don't answer me with a question, Besh... aren't you two an item or something?"
"Nooo!" I said a bit defensively. These days, it's hard for me to objectively look at Kiefer and say that he is still a friend. I know, he wanted more than that, but I don't want to delve into that emotion right now. Not when I'm so confused and I'm slowly swayed by these different emotions.
"Really? Seriously? The Kiefer Ravena is still waiting for your..."
"Den... Den...," I cut her off. I sighed, "Kiefer is my friend. For now. So far," I said, indecisively.
"Alyssa Caymo Valdez, are you keeping secrets from me? What do you mean by for now, so far?!?"
"Look, Den... it's hard to explain...," I moved around the living room, going back and forth. "I... well... it's a bit tricky now that we always hang out... and yeah, I do enjoy his company. But it's this weird feeling of looking at him differently, when I've always looked at him as a friend..."
"So you're falling in love with him," Den said, without preamble.
"Do you think so? Do you honestly think that this is already love?"
"Besh, as much as you'd want to hide it or deny it, we both know that with Kiefer, it will be especially hard for you. Never mind the bashers and haters, but we both know something was bound to happen between the two of you."
"Still lurking on social media, eh?" I joked at her.
"Don't change the subject, Besh. And yeah, always have been a lurker," she admitted with a laugh. Den has always had her own opinions, and very vocal about them, too. "Anyway, you and Kiefer always had that... that special chemistry. It's like you both connect on most counts, but it just so happened that you were both treading different paths, with different people. And then suddenly, you find yourself at a crossroad wherein you both could walk together, and just the two of you," she explained.
I heard some rustling on the background, she must be opening some chips, "the question would be: would you like to walk that road together, or give up the chance of experiencing that moment of ... of just being together?"
