Jonathan's POV

It's been about a week since Lilith and Lyle told me that Alexis was a new addition to the family. Since I was their alpha along with my mate Kayla, we have to know what's going on. Zac will take over alpha once I am ready to retire. I walked downstairs to the kitchen when the phone rang." Hello, who is this?" I asked." Jonathan Mikcals, it's your number 1 beta here." He said to me like I forgot. " Ah, yes how is Alexis doing Lyle, I've been meaning to asked you that." I said with a big grin and a little chuckle." Uh,.... well that's kinda what I wanted to talk to you about." I was shocked once he said that because I have no idea how she is doing or anything like that. " Well, you like supernatural beings right?!" He asked me in a serious tone," well of course I do!" I told him in a laugh." Then find wild shifters, see if there is anything in all of your books or files that talk about wild shifters." He finally said with a loud and long sigh." Why, what does this have to do with Alexis?" I asked him with my eyes bulging out of my skull." I don't really know, but once she comes back from shopping, I will tell her to come to you." He told me like he's been running for an half an hour." I'll call you back once she gets home, bye." He said." Bye." I said back. I thought to myself, what is a wild shifter? I ran to our phone book and started calling alphas all across the boarder, one of them finally picked up." Hello, is this alpha Jason?" I asked once they picked up the phone." Yes, and just whom am I speaking with?" He said with his big alpha tone." Alpha Jonathan, sir...., I need to ask you a couple of questions!" I told him as I thought about what wild shifters might be." Well,..... what is it?" I guess once he said that I snapped back to earth." Well, I want you to find information on wild shifters!" I told him with my heart pounding." Alright then,.... I will call you once I have some information." He did not mention why but I was happy with it. I hung up and thought,...... why would my beta give me this assignment?

Alexis's POV

We were almost home from the mall after that attack happened. I had the egg in my purse. I held it tight as I tried to connect with it. The dryad told me that I will be one with this creature so...... its probably supernatural. We were almost home so I grabbed all of my things I bought and the egg, and went inside with Em and Jake. " uh...., were home." I said with my body quivering." Hey guys, how was shopping!" Lilith said all exited. We shrugged an when to go upstairs when Lilith stopped us." What happened there?" She asked us like she read our minds, but I'm guessing she did because she's a wolf." Uh..., we got attacked by vampires." I said with a loud groan." WHAT! Why didn't you tell me once you got in the door!" She practically yelled at us." Sorry! But we wanted today to be normal." Em said with a sigh as she sat down on the stairs. Lilith sighed as well and sat on a chair." Uh..., Lilith we also..... have something else to tell you." I stuttered out. She made a face asked what is it when I spoke again." Uh, a dryad gave us this." I took the egg out of the bag and gave it to Lilith." What is it?" She asked us." It's an egg but we don't know what animal is in it. The dryad said it will hatch when it is ready, but right now, it will stay with me." I told them when Lilith handed the egg back to me." Oh, I almost forgot! Alexis, Lyle wants to take you to an old friend of his. Is that alright?" She asked me softly." Sure, not a problem." I said back, but why would one of Lyle's old friends want to see me, maybe because I am a new addition to the family? I got up and put the warm egg in my purse." I'll go now." I told her softly. Before I went I put my bought clothes in my room and ran back downstairs." Bye." I said waving my hand. Before I walked out the door I bumped into something strong and hard?

Lyle's POV

I was going to go to the front door when something walked into me. " Alexis, there you are!" I said to her with a big smile on my face while I hugged her." Uh, are we going to go to you so called "friends" house!?" She asked me as she stated friends." Yep." I said to her." Ok,....well I'm ready!" She said with her arms crossed with I'm guessing her new purse that she got. I smiled and opened the door." Bye Lilith." Lyle and I said, I was wondering if she knew who the alpha was to our pack, or if she even knew if we were in a pack! Since my friend was alpha, he lived right across from our house, it was bigger than ours but that was ok." Here we are!" I said with expression in my voice. She looked to me then to the house. I walked up more and I motioned for her to follow me. We got to the door when Jonathan opened the door." We're here." I said with a small smile. He smiled back and shifted so we would have room to get in." Ladies first." I said as Jonathan chuckled. Alexis pushed me in and I looked over my shoulder to see her smirk." What! I was just being polite." I said sarcastically. Jonathan laughed and she just showed a little smile, and then sat down on the couch in the living room. Jonathan left the room for a couple of minuites and then came back with some files, I'm guessing is about Alexis and what she is. I sat down in a chair near Alexis and Jonathan while he was passing out the files." What is this?" Alexis asked me. " This,.... is all to know about you and the other 9." I said calmly." What! You shared it with someone else, my life and the other 9 could me in danger!" She practically yelled at me." No. He can.....," before I could finish Alexis cut in." Sit down!" She said in an alpha tone. I quickly sat down without my body telling me to, which was weird." I was trusting you with MY life and the other 9, I....," before she could raise hell over me anymore, alpha Jonathan stepped in." Alright Alexis,.... I think you made your point." Alpha Jonathan said while sorting through the files. Before she could even stand up to Jonathan, he spoke first." It is alright Alexis, you can trust me, I am alpha, remember,..... about one week ago I came to your house with my mate." He said in a calm, smooth voice." You..... your....., alpha!" She said, slurring her words.

He nodded his head and put the files down." Lyle told me what you were, but...., is there anything else that you want to tell us?" He asked Alexis in a curious, but calm voice. She just stood up and turned into her barn owl. She flew and landed on Jonathan's shoulder. I guess once he said that to her, she knew that she could trust him now." Lyle is my beta along with Lilith." He said to her. They were silent so I guess that they were having a private conversation in their minds.

Alexis's POV

" How many of you are there?" I asked him in my mind, he seemed like he didn't know what I was talking about." Your pack. How many of there are you?" I asked again, more specifically this time." There are about 300, maybe 350 or 375." Once he said that I a got off his shoulder and shifted back into my human form. My mouth was shaped as an "O" because of what he said." Not much, really." He said aloud nodding his head. For some reason I knew I could trust him so I told them what happened at the mall today." What! You got attacked again!" Lyle said, unfortunately I nodded my head and we sighed heavily." They are after me for my power,.... to shift." I told them. They nodded but still had a confused face." What told you that?" Lyle asked suspiciously. I hesitated to speak but went on." When Em, Jake and me were getting chased by those..... things, we climbed a a tree to get away from them, a dryad was there and gave me this." I held my hands out to show them and when they looked they gasped." What! What's wrong." I quickly said, putting the egg away as I did it." That egg......., it's the most powerful egg on this planet, take good care of it." They told me, I sighed with a relief because if there was something wrong with this egg I would not be carrying it right now. I looked at the egg while in the corner of my eye I could see that Alpha Jonathan was handing over the files of my existence and the other 9's existence. After about 10 minutes of silence Lyle finally spoke." Well, thank you alpha, I defiantly owe you one. We will be going now." He told the alpha, I think alpha Jon would be better because it is shorter and cooler! We got up from our seat, and said goodbye but before I got out the door alpha Jon tugged me back." Alexis...., don't let anyone know that you know about us, not even the rest of my pack alright, this is between you, me and Lyle alright." He said to me. I nodded my head and headed out the door. I ran past Lyle in my wolf speed and flew the rest of the way in my owl form. One of the windows was open so I shifted into my snake and slithered the rest of the way into the house. I landed on the kitchen counter with the egg when Lilith came in. I didn't want to scare her so I turned back into my human form." Your back early, but you have been gone for an hour or so." What! An hour! We were gone for that long?! Before I could say anything Lyle came in threw the door." We're back!" He said with a fake smile, but kind of a smirk. I tried to connect with Emily and Jake when I got something from him, it sounded like he was panting heavily.

" Alexis,..... whatever you do, don't go near Lilith, it is not her,..... the vampires took her away same with Emily, I am being chased right now but I will be fine, please find us sis, we really need you." He sent to me. I looked up to see both Lilith and Lyle looking at me, they seemed to be tilting their heads in a question way. I ran to Lyle and blocked him from the imposture Lilith." Alexa, what are you doing?" Imposture Lilith asked while Lyle nodded, asking me with a smile." First of all, my name is Alexis, second,.... you're not Lilith." I answered back with a snarl. Lyle was trying to get past me, but I didn't let him. She laughed at me and tried to grab me by the throat." You stupid little girl, you are right, I am not Lilith,...... I am you worst nightmare!" She hissed and launched herself at me. I quickly got Lyle and dodged her, so she landed on the table. We were able to get outside and we saw vampires coming out if the forest." Alpha, warn the rest of your pack, the vampires are here, get everyone else to safety, me and Lyle will handle this." I informed the alpha but it was too late. He came out of the house with a dead vampire in his grasp, and dropped it to the floor. Lyle and me started running to him when the vampires started circling us. The same vampire from the mall came out of the circle and stepped forwards." Remember me,..... witch!" He sneered. I smirked while Alpha Jon an Lyle looked at him." Who are you calling witch, vampire!" Lyle sneered back. They were both angry....., and I was right in the middle of it. I still had the egg with me when I carried it into the house with my owl form. The vampire Lazereth smirked and made some hand movement. They brought up someone that I didn't know." Do you see this girl, this is your mate, and if you don't come with me....., well I will kill him!" He finally said with a hiss. What! This is my wild shifter mate! This can't be possible!
