Chapter 9

Olivias' POV

I looked at my sister as I sobbed in my tiny hands, with my mate. After we escaped from the cells the vampire were holding us in, Alexis stayed behind. And when she got back, she was bleeding. And when I mean bleeding, I mean bleeding a lot! Her mate was also with us. Even though I didn't know her mate, I was still grateful. After a couple of minutes of silence Four people walked into the room. I realized the first person right away when they came. It was my brother, Jake. I ran into Jake's arms and he picked me up in the process. Still crying, he whispered to me," it will be alright. Our sister is strong, she won't die. I promise." He told me, and I believed him. I really did. But even for a seven year old, I acted pretty mature for my age. After he spoke I heard a little moan coming from behind me. I spun my head around so fast, I almost lost my head. I looked at the bed to see Alexis waking up." Alexis!!!" I screamed to her. The doctor came up to her bed and examined her wounds." This is hard to believe.... but your broken ribs, your cuts and your eternal bleeding, has healed fully." She told her.I squirmed out of Jake's arms and ran to the bed. Her mate was right there too, holding Alexis's hand." Are you sure she will be alright." I asked the doctor." In sure honey." She said back to me with a kind smile. After that she walked away, but stopped half way to say something." You can leave today if you like." She told us, and then she left. After she left Alexis fully got up and put her hand to her head." What happened, I have a pounding headache." She told us." It's ok honey, you had several ribs broken, severe cuts, and eternal bleeding." Her mate told her." But I don't feel it now." She asked him confused." Well, I guess you had special healing powers or something." He told her with a laugh. "Wait! Matt, where is my purse!" She almost screamed. He was grinning and took it out of his jacket and Alexis grabbed it from his hand." Anyways babe, what is so important about that purse." Her mate known as Matt said. " There's an egg in it." Was her simple reply. " Yeah, are you sure Lexi, what is in that purse Lexi." I asked her." I told you. It's an egg. An egg that a dryad gave me, and I swore to protect it." She told us." What kind of egg is it?" I asked her again." It's a dragon egg, and once I learn its form, it will change colour." She told me.I was kinda shocked when she said that, but I didn't mention it." Wait though. What day is it today." She asked Matt." It's Monday, why?" He asked Alexis." Because it is the first day of school and we are already late!" She yelled. After she did that she practically jumped out of bed.

Before I knew it, I was going to a new home, with my brother and sister, and my little mate, Tyler. We all checked out of the hospital, so I checked the time. It was about 5 in the morning. So technically, she had plenty of time. We got in the woods and took a path that probably led to where our house was, and I was exited!

Alexis's POV

After getting out of the hospital, we walked down a path in the woods. I could see that Olivia and her mate were holding hands, and so was I with my mate. I blushed as he squeezed it tighter and pecked me on the cheek." Will you be alright." He asked me, concerned." I will be fine." I told him. After about ten minutes after walking, we were at our house. I knew since I found Olivia and Jake that Lilith will have to adopt both of them. I pecked my mate on the cheek and said I would be back, so I quickly ran over to Lilith." Hey Lilith, you are going to adopt Jake and Olivia, right?" I asked her. She sighed and thought about it for a while." Maybe Lyle could add some extra rooms into the house, and while he is doing that I could adopt your brother and sister. But I am not sure if he will agree so easily." She told me in a whisper voice. I smiled and hugged her." Thank you." I whispered in her ear." Your welcome." She said back.We finally got back to the house, when we see the alpha and Lyle. Lilith ran to her mate and hugged every ounce of his soul that she could." Are you alright." She asked him a little concerned. He moved his hand so his hands was touching her cheeks." I'll be alright, no minor injuries." He told her with a smile.they all smiled back and we headed into the house. Right when we got in the house a powerful scent hit my nose. It was a vampires scent." Wait hear." I told everyone. They all nodded except for the alpha." No. I am coming with you because I am the leader of the pack. It is my responsibility for these people." He told me. I couldn't say no to an alpha, plus we are much stronger than alphas so our rank is higher, but still....., I let him come. I turned into my king cobra and slithered silently as alpha Jon( that is his new nickname) walked quietly behind me. I slithered through knocked over things while alpha Jon was trying to keep quiet by quietly walking over things. I went even further to where the smell was. Right as we were about to head in, alpha Jon stepped on something and it made a loud "CRACK"!" Told you I should've went alone." I told him as he smirked. But before he could do anything, something came up to us, walking weakly. It wasn't a vampire, it wasn't a rogue warrior, it wasn't anything mythical, it was an animal. The vampires must have tortured the poor thing.I turned back into my human form to examine the animal even further." Alexis, be careful." A voice said behind me. I didn't turn my head because I already knew who it was. I walked up to it a bit more until we were 4 feet away from each other. It whimpered and cried, I didn't know what to do.
