Chapter 4

Alexis's POV

Emily wanted to see me learn a new animal. We started down the stairs and almost headed out the door when someone talked to us. " What do you think you are doing!" I turned around to see Lyle with his arms crossed." You CAN'T go out there! Emily almost got killed!" He practically yelled." Do you really want us to stay inside all day?" I asked with a serious face. He nodded. I was getting pissed off, even for a 14 year old I can get really pissed off." You can't keep me in here, I need my space, I've been cooped up in a small space my HOLE life!! So you CAN'T tell ME what to do!" I almost yelled. For some reason he nodded and turned away. He walked upstairs into the living room." Glad that's done and over with!" I said pissed off. We finally headed outside and into the forest. I made a link between me and Jake to talk to him." What the hell Jake, is there another thing you want to tell me." I practically roared in his head." Uh...well, we can control any supernatural being on the planet. Kinda like an alpha for his/her pack." I said to me. I was fuming, this made me mad even more. First, he should of told me that, second I was already pissed off as it was. Trying to let my anger out, I punched my fist against the tree. Emily and Jake both flinched." Sorry Mother Nature, but I had to let my anger out." I said. I took my hand out of fist mode and looked at it." Your bleeding, I'll get you some bandages." Emily tried to scurry off, but I caught her." No need, even though I have a bloody fist, doesn't mean that you don't get to see my work." I told her." Besides, I can heal myself." I told her bluntly, like it was no big deal. I put my good hand over my fist and it glowed. It didn't heal fully but a scab formed." Wow! That's so cool!! Anything else you want to tell me?!" She asked me." Uh...yeah, I can control any supernatural being on the planet." I told her. Again she shook her head in disbelief." Sit." I said. She did as I said." Not enough proof." She said with her arms crossed." Climb up a tree then." I said with a big grin. She clawed up there like a feline cat." Ok! Ok! I believe you, please take me down!!!" She pleaded." Jump off." I ordered. She jumped off and her face had a frown on it. I laughed as Jake turned back to human form after Emily frowned at me." Ok everyone search everywhere until you find an animal. I will tell you if I will learn it or not." I ordered. They started looking for an animal when I turned into my owl and flew back to the house. I got to my window to see that it was open and flew in it. My notepad wasn't in there.

The last place I remember leaving it was downstairs so I silently flew down there to see Lyle in the kitchen. I motioned fast to get my notepad and pencil so I picked it up and quickly flew back upstairs and out the window. I got back to Emily and Jake found an animal. I shifted back and grabbed the notepad and pencil off the ground." What lovely creature do you have for me?" I asked like I was a queen." We found a calmed cougar." Jake and Emily told me." Back away from the cougar guys, it could attack you." I said in a warning tone. They moved back from the cougar and I sat right down beside it. I drew his face and then I listed the basics."- Yellowish brown fur,- deep blue eyes,- sharp white teeth,- snout,- good listening ears." I said aloud. I put my hand up and touched the animal. The knowledge was a lot to take in for me so I closed my eyes and I felt my body shifting into the cougar. I opened my eyes to see the cougar." Thank you." I sent." Remember, be on the look out wild shifter, you never know what might happen." It sent back to me. Once I got its message and it ran off into the woods. I set up a connection to Emily to talk to her." And that is how I learn to shift." I told her in a mind link. " Wow! That's pretty cool, I got to admit." She told me. I quickly tested my jumping ability, and it was great! I was happy because I had school In 1 week so I was exited to beat the guys at everything, especially Dillon and Jake, wait a sec, Jake! My family doesn't know about Jake except for me and Emily, shoot I had to figure this out fast! Before I turned back to human form I pricked up my ears. Someone was walking in the forest!" Hide!" I sent them." What is someone coming?!" Emily asked me. I nodded my head. We ran to hide behind trees I shifted back behind a tree when the noise was getting louder, the footsteps came closer." Alexis?" A familiar voice asked. " Lyle?" I said back. I came out from behind the tree to see Lyle. " Oh I was worried sick about you! I am so sorry about what I said. You were right, I should of just let you go....." He stopped there when I talked." Hey, it's ok....., I just needed some space." I said back, calmly." Well, we better get back, it's getting a bit dark." He said back. I was glad that we were past this. Wait, if it was my dad he would be mad at me, he would still be a little bit mad, right? He would at least scold me and tell me to never do that again when danger is near. This ISN'T Lyle!
