Wild Shifters Chapter 1 Surprise!

Chapter 1

Alexis's POV

It was 2:00 in the afternoon when I was in the car waiting for my new mom to sign the adoption form and get me. She looked really pretty and I am so happy she's my new mom. It took us about 2 hours and 37 minutes to get to our new home. Even though I have a really big secret I cannot tell anyone, I am the one of the last of my kind. Their is ten of us. We were spread out all over the earth to protect the planet. Every new animal we learned, the stronger we will be. My thoughts were accurate until my new mom snapped me out of my daze when I looked up. " You will like this place a lot Alexis, it's a mansion so you will have lots of room to roam around." She said in a soft voice. "Wow, really. They never gave us a lot of room in the orphanage. I said back."Well, you will now, and you will have a sister and a brother to hang with, and your new father is exited to meet you!"She said happily. " Are my new sister and brother adopted as well." I asked." No, they are my children." She said. We were silent the rest of the way, until we finally got to the new house. "Wow it's even bigger than I had imagined!" I said surprised. When we entered the house I was really surprised. There was a super big backyard with a pool and a forest behind it, there was a super big kitchen, and dining room, upstairs was the living room and my new mom and dads bedroom with a bathroom and the next stair case up was mine and my new brother and sisters rooms. The last room on the right was mine and when we went in it I was happy to have my own room." This is where you will be sleeping Alexis. When she said that my mouth was dropping open and I was so exited to have my own room. " Thank you Lilith, thank you so much." I was happy and Lilith was smiling happily. " We also bought you some new clothes too Alexis." I was looking from the dresser to Lilith now. " Really!" I asked." Really Alexis! She was smiling when she said that." Thank you Lilith." I said while I hugged her." Your welcome!" She said while she hugged me back. " Now, lets go meet the rest of your new family." "She said. We walked down one flight of stairs and came to the living room where everybody was." Ok, everyone it's time to meet our new family member everyone." Lilith said, and everyone turned when she said that." This is Alexis everyone and she is apart of our family now." She said happily." Hi." I said very shyly. " Ok Alexis this is your brother Dillon, this is your sister Emily, and this is your new dad, Lyle." She said finally." Pleasure to have you as a family member Alexis." Dillon said. " Why thank you big bro." I said with a smile.

"A pleasure to have you as a family member too!" Emily said. " Thank you for the warm welcome." I said a little bit shy. " Yes, welcome to the family Alexis." Lyle said last to me. " Thanks Lyle." I said back happy to have them." Um Lilith,... do you mind if I take a look around with my journal. I would like to know how to get around." I asked politely." Of course you can,what's ours is yours." She said back with a smile." Ok, I'll be in the forest if you have to call my cell for something."I told them." Of course sweetie, come back at 5:00 for dinner ok." She told me. " Ok!" I said back, and with that, I quickly ran upstairs to get my notepad and pencil then I left out the door to go to the back yard. I ran the rest of the way to the forest to find the first animal I could turn into. I searched high and low for the smallest animal I could find until I found a female king cobra snake. It looked at me from the side of its eyes and then turned its head to face me. I sat down a few inches away from it until it came a bit closer. I used my pencil to draw the animal and to write down the facts about it. - Big head,- sharp teeth,- black eyes,- long body,- flickering tongue. After I wrote down everything that I knew, I looked the snake into the dark black eyes. It looked into mine to see my soul and after it did, it motioned that it could trust me. I put my hand on the snakes body to Absorb its knowledge to turn into it. After I absorbed all of its knowledge, I could feel every bone in my body break until my bones could get to the snakes bones. I closed my eyes shut and covered my mouth until I couldn't scream, because if I did, my new family would come looking for me. I finally opened to see my eyes looking at the king cobra and I realized that it was my first turn and I already turned into the king cobra. I nodded to the kind cobra and she nodded back and she slithered away. After she left I tested my senses. I flickered my tongue, used my keen eyesight, and slithered stealthily and launched myself at a twig, until I slithered up a tree to get some raise. After that I slithered back down and I realized that it was 4:45, so I shifted back and it didn't hurt as much as it did before. After I fully shifted back to human form I still had my clothes on because it was a small body frame so they weren't ripped or anything. I picked up my notepad and pencil and headed back home. My eyesight was still keen as the snake's eyesight but it was getting to my normal human eyes.
