Chapter 8

Jake's POV

After I sent the link to Alexis, they caught me. A vampire ran me over like a dandelion! I rolled on my stomach and shifted into my polar bear and got up. I clawed at his face up for a minute or two until he had an almost blank, bloody face. I tried to run from him but he was too fast, even for me! Even though he didn't have an eye and an ear. He got me in a huge brace in his arms and let me go. He threw me against a tree and I fell to my knees. I then shifted back, and after he did that I couldn't breath, like he damaged my lungs and and broke several bones. He came running at me and grabbed me by the neck. With his bloody face he sneered," where is the rest of your kind!" When he said that I had no way of responding because of his embrace, and how am I supposed to know where they are? Dummy." Well,! I'M LOSING MY PATIENCE !" He roared. After he did that his grip loosened slightly so I got a bit of air." I... don't.... know!" I spat out to him. Once again his grip loosened a lot! The next thing I know is I am being dropped to the ground and I look up to see him roaring in pain." AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGG! WITCH! WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!" He roared looking up. Witch? I don't see a witch. What is he talking about? I looked up to see a girl about my age floating in the air. She looked like a younger version of Lilith." WHAT YOU HAD DONE TO MY SISTER YOU MONSTER!" She screamed to him. I looked back to the vampire to see blood gushing out of both of his arms, like an invisible saw was cutting it off. I looked back to the girl to see her falling! I quickly stumbled to my feet to try to catch her. Even though I felt my bones were broken, I managed to catch her. Right when her skin touched mine, I knew right away that she was my mate. I looked back to the muscular vampire to see both arms on the ground with blood gushing out, but I did not see the vampire anywhere! I started to walk weakly, do to my broken bones and my mates weight on me I felt collapsing! I kept walking but then I stopped when I heard my mate mumble words." Lilith..... need..... t.... to...... get...... to.... Lilith." Was all she spoke. How did she know Lilith. Heck, I don't even know Lilith! After taking a few steps I caught a scent of a she wolf. I started running like crazy until I was really close to them. I hid behind a bush with my mate still in my arms. I started peeking through the bushes to see Lilith tied to a wooden pole and vampires all around her." Well, Lilith. This is how you witches used to be killed. Burned at the steak!" He said. Lilith is a witch, but she is a wolf, plus I never smelled her witch side at the house.

A vampire lifted his head in the air and sniffed the air." Hhmm. Looks like your sister is not do far from us now. You two! Go search for her." He ordered them. They nodded and started running in a direction. I looked down at my mate to see her waking up. I stared peeking through the bushes and I didn't see the vampire that ordered the others. I stilled very fast, as I knew that that was supposed to fool me, them going in the wrong direction. My instincts were telling me that he was right behind me. I quickly turned around to see the vampire starring at me with his dead black eyes. He grabbed me by the throat and I accidentally let go of my mate. He started walking closer to Lilith and then dropped me on the ground." Pathetic! You call yourselves the wild shifters, when you are so weak." He sneered in my face." Hey, I had a fight before so, that's why I ain't so pretty anymore." I said to him with sarcasm. He ripped my cheek with his claws after I said that." You think you are better than us, then think again!" He growled. He turned his back to me and started walking to Lilith." Weak are we." I mumbled under my breath. I got up quietly and shifted into my large leopard. I charged at him and tackled him to the the ground. My whole body still hurt but I didn't care. I bit his side and at his neck before he threw me off. I quickly got back up and used all my power and and charged at him again. This time he tackled me and started scratching at my fur. Before I could do anything he threw me off and covered his ears in pain. I looked to the bushes where my mate was to see her walking towards us wraith her hands lifted at her waists." My mate is not weak, like you are, and neither is my kind you bastard!" She told him. He started backing away into the forests until he was into the forest. He ran off into the forest and my mate stopped. I shifted back to my human form to see my mate running to me." Hi." I said." Hi,........ I'm Bonnie, Lilith's little sister." She said." Jake, my sister is her adopted daughter." I told her. After that I got caught in her eyes, and she got caught in mine. Before we could break the silence, Lilith did." I know you guys are mates and stuff, but can you let me loose." Lilith asked, losing her patience. We both laughed and started walking to her." Sure thing, big sis." She said to Lilith. We untied Lilith and started walking in the forest." Lilith, if your a witch.... Why didn't you use your powers?" I asked her." They used a potion on me so I couldn't use magic for two days." She told us. After she said that, my phone started ringing and I picked up." Hello." I asked weakly." Jake, you need to help us! We're in a cell and we have no way of getting out!" The voice said.
