I pulled my house key out of my pocket, walking up to the two-story white house. I pushed the key into the the patch, unlocking the door and walking in. I closed it behind me and began running up the staircase.

"How was school honey?" I heard my mom yell out to me.

"Stupid. I just want to drop out and form a band." I yelled back, huffing out of annoyance.

"Very funny Nicole." My mom replied.

"Hey maybe I could manage a band! At least it'd be something I'm good at!"

"You're good at chemistry and physics too, hun."

"Yeah, whatever mom." I mumbled to myself walking down the hall to the last door where my bed awaits. I kicked my shoes off at the foot of my bed, throwing my backpack down beside them. Ever since I was in middle school, my mom has always pushed me into honors and AP science classes. She thought that maybe if she started it earlier for me that I would like it more.... that was not the case.

She wants me to become some kind of nurse or doctor, so I'd make a lot of money. I just couldn't imagine that being my life, though. Slowly rotting away at something I absolutely hated. Don't get me wrong - I love my mom. It's just sometimes she had a hard time showing me the affection that most parents showcase.

I flopped down onto my bed, closing my eyes briefly. An annoying ringtone began playing throughout the small room. I pulled my phone out of my back pocket, having to roll over to do so. I swiped the screen to answer the call, bringing the small device to my ear.

"Hey Sammie," I mumble tiredly.

"Nicole! What's up MUDAFUCKA?" My best friend screamed into the phone. I winced, slightly bringing the phone away from my ear.

"Shut up you idiot. You're going to make me go deaf." I laughed.

"Sorry," she giggled. "How was your first day?"

"Horrible! I've already got a bunch of homework and this really annoying boy in a few of my classes." I rolled my eyes, tucking a strand of my blonde hair behind my ear.

"Is he cute? 'Cause I could deal with annoyingly-cute guys."

"Cute? I mean not really - well maybe... I'm not really sure. That's not really the point. He's freaking annoying. Won't stop tapping on my shoulder and stuff." I spoke, the blonde boy popping into my head.

He was pretty cute, but his personality completely distorted that image. Plus, he didn't know when to stop. He was like a lost puppy - correction: an annoying, lost puppy. He was like those dogs that are size of your foot, who have an annoying bark and keeps jumping on you.

"Aww he sounds adorable!" She squealed. I rolled my eyes, sighing.

"Didn't you hear a single word I said? He's annoying! And he had the nerve to call me a douchette!"

"What the hell does that mean?" Sammie asked, munching heard on the other end of the line.

"That's what I asked! He just said, 'a girl that's a douche'." I spoke, trying my best to imitate a man's voice. I burst out into a fit of giggles.

"Omg! That's pretty smart! I'm gonna quote him on that. What's his name?"

"Luke." A moment of silence falling over both of us. "He even has an annoying name."

"Give him a second chance! He might not be all that bad!"

"Yeah, yeah." I mumble quietly. "I gotta go, talk to you in a bit?"

"Okay bye boo-bear!" Her enthusiastic voice ending along with the line. I slightly cringed at the common nickname she called me.

I tried to distract myself with homework, but the word 'douchette' kept repeating in my head. It was such an awful word. Why would you call a stranger such a thing? I wanted to call him an equally harsh name, but I'm not that kind of person.

Why was this effecting me so much? I tried to shake my thoughts, but they wouldn't budge. Stupid brain. Maybe I could try distracting myself with Vine.

I clicked on the app, the six second videos appearing quickly. I scrolled through the various One Direction, Teen Wolf, and famous people vines. If anything, it made me feel more emotional with all the depressing Stiles, Zayn, or suicidal edits. I quickly closed the app, locking my phone and throwing it down beside me.

"I mean who does he think he is calling me-"

"Nicole come downstairs! Calum's here!"

I felt my body lunge forward, almost falling off the bed. I regained my balance and threw open my door. I was running, taking the stairs two at a time.

I saw him standing in front of the door, a huge smile plastered on his face. His arms were already open by the time I jumped in them, him stumbling a few steps back.

"Cal, you're back." I whispered into his neck, breathing in his faint cologne. My arms and legs were wrapped tightly around his body, heat radiating off of him.

"Did you miss me?" He spoke.

"Ew of course not!" I sarcastically replied, my body still engulfing him.

"Sure love, whatever you say." He laughed. God I wanted to hear that sound again. "Well I missed you."

He had carried me into the living room, placing me down on the couch and taking the seat next to me. My mom had quietly told us that she would be at the store.

"Are you staying permanently?"

"Yup, I wanted to come back early. So my mum and sister decided to stay over in Arizona for another month.

"Oh where are you staying?"

"With you, I was hoping. I already talked to your mum about it and she said it was perfectly fine if you were okay with it." He smiled brightly at me. I couldn't help but smile back.

"Of course it is! You're my bestfriend!" I laughed, slapping his arm.

I couldn't help but feel the muscles in his arms. I let my eyes rake over his body. He definitely was more toned than I last saw him. His black hair matted down and pushed to the side. Tattoos scattered down his left arm. His body also a shade tanner than before.

"Are you done checking me out?" He laughed.

"I'm not checking you out! It's just that you've changed so much, Cal." I giggled. He rolled his eyes, grabbing ahold of my arms and pulling me to sit on his lap. The sudden action surprised me. I felt awkward and out of place.

"You've changed too, Nicki." He reached out, twirling a piece of my blonde hair around his finger. "You've somehow managed to get uglier." He laughed.

"Oh screw you Hood." I slapped his hand away, giggling quietly.

"Oh you'd love that wouldn't you?" Calum smirked at me, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Still horny as ever, I see." I said amused, crawling off his lap. I grabbed the remote to the TV, flipping through the channels.

"Oh baby, it's only gotten worse."

"If it taste like chicken, keep on lickin'. Taste like fish, leave that dish." I randomly blurted out.

"Ew, don't say that."

"Don't be silly, wrap your willy!" I sang to him.

"Just shut up and turn on some TV."
