Chapter 24

Ciel, Sebastian and Haruka are heading toward the crime scene, and it turns out that there is another victim, and the Scotland Yard had already arrived, and when Sir Randall sees the young Earl he frowns,
"We do not need any help from you 'Guard dog' leave." He said with a stern voice,
"I do not intend to help you Sir Randall, I am just doing what her majesty ordered me to do, to capture the murderer." Ciel said with pride in his voice, then Sir Randall looks over at Haruka,
"You girl, are you Japanese?" He asked her with suspicions, " Because I've information that this murders involved in some Japanese ritual, and you are a helping in the investigation, and also you are a Japanese, that makes you a suspect, Girl." He said glaring at Haruka, when Ciel tries to defend her, Haruka steps forward,
"I do not know why you suspect me Sir Randall, but I can assure I am not involved in this murders, yes I am from Japan but that does not made me a suspect, it could be anyone even from this country, maybe you should think that before accusing me of murder, also I have a name Sir Randall and that is, Haruka Yukimura!" Haruka said as she glare at Sir Randall,
"I can also clear her alibis, she had been working in the manor, and she had never left the manor, Sir Randall." Sebastian said defending her,
"Also, she is my maid, and as her master I can assure you that she has no connections in this murders." Ciel said stepping in front of Haruka,
"Hmph, since you're master and his butler had defend you, that doesn't mean I won't be watching you, Miss Haruka Yukimura." Sir Randall said then he leaves the three of them,
"Geez what is that man's problem?! Why did he go and suspected me just because I am Japanese, I hate that man." Haruka said in anger,
"So do I, he's a pain in the neck, come on let's continue investigating." Ciel said and they went to gather more information.
The sun is about to set, the streets begins to become quiter, only a few people are walking, and the three of them had found a clue of where the next murder will happen, some witnesses said that the killer was a tall man with blonde hair, So it must be a man from London, and the victims are all connected with each other, they were soldiers in the same group but they retired a few years ago and there are only two persons that have not been killed yet, so the three of them are waiting, until the sun has finally set and the moon rises, after a few hours of waiting they saw a tall muscular man with black hair, he looked like a soldier from the looks of his muscular body, and behind him the man that the witnesses had described is following him he's holding a tantō a blade that is use to cut open the stomach in the ritual and a gun, they get ready to follow the man, and when the black haired man went inside an ally, the killer followed him too, before the killer shoots the man, Sebastian quickly knocked the gun from the killers hand, then the man turns around and he stared at the killer in shock,
"D-David w-what are you doing?!" The man asked the killer named David,
"I'm going to give you an honorable death Jeremy, isn't that what you wanted, you want your honor back right?" David asked the man called Jeremy,
"What happened to you David, you need help!" Jeremy shouted, "I do not need help Jeremy I have given the others an honorable death, you and I are the only ones left, after you I will commit hara kiri too." David said a bit crazy,
"No I do not want an honorable death David, true I felt guilty for the things I have done, but now I have something worth fighting for! I have a family at home I cannot die and make them sad." Jeremy said,
"S-so you have betrayed me too?! All of you including you, Jeremy!" David screamed in agony, then he lunged for Jeremy but before he could, Sebastian throws a knife at his stomach, then he falls to the ground choking blood,
"Ohhhh a knife is buried in my stomach just like the ritual, Jeremy I wish..you..cou..dl...feel..I..it too." David said his last words, Jeremy watched as his friend died. After a few minutes past, Jeremy finally spoke up,
"I think you all are wondering why he did all of this." Then the three of them nodded,
"You see David always had an obsession about Japanese cultures especially about these samurais, we were soldiers back in the days, and we retired with some other guys, and a year ago, we did something horrible, we stole some moneys from some rich old man, and we ended up killing him, we dumped the body so no one will ever notice, he didn't look like a noble so we thought no one would ever realized, ever since that day I felt guilt having to kill that man, never even a single day I forget about what I have done, and when the murders happened And my friends died one after the other and I was the one left, I knew who was behind this and I knew I was going to be the next target so I called him to meet up with me, but I did not think he would try to kill me too, I do not understand any of this, 'an honorable death'? What does he mean?" Jeremy asked frustrated,
"You see in Japanese, they say that by committing hara kiri, a samurai or maybe a warrior or a soldier, when they ad committed serious offense they would have their honor back." Haruka explained,
"I see...., so he wanted us to have our honor back as a soldier by committing suicide, I always thought about killing myself for what I did, but now I have a reason to live, my family, my loved ones. Do you know how it feels like, little lady?" Jeremy said with a kind smile,
"Yes I completely understand." Haruka said while looking at Ciel and Sebastian.
And so David's body was brought to the Undertaker, and the three of them went back to the manor, Haruka however was already asleep beside Sebastian, they both watch her as she slept,
"Young master about tomorrow, are you sure we should tell her?" Sebastian asked his master,
"We have no choice we cannot hide the fact anymore Sebastian, it is best if we tell her ourselves than she finds out herself. And also we both made a promise that she would not leave us, and she always keeps her promise right, Sebastian?" Ciel asked his butler, and Sebastian answered,
"Yes, my lord."
And as soon they made it to the mansion, they were greeted by the servants, Haruka was still sleeping in Sebastian's arms and the servants chuckle at this but Sebastian frown at them, and they left the two of them, Ciel has already went back to his room and Sebastian carries Haruka back to her room, he lays her down on the bed and pulls the blanket on her, but before he left he kissed her on the cheeks,
"Good night Haruka, I love you." Then he left her, but what Sebastian didn't know was that Haruka was awake the whole time after they arrived in her room, and she held the spot where Sebastian kissed her then she thought about what he said 'I love you' those words still lingers in her mind and she smiles happily.
