*Luke's POV*

Luke layed on his bed, staring at the ceiling. Tonight was the schools masqaurade ball and the one girl he had been crushing on, who had a crush on him as well, turned him down. Was he not extravagant enough? Should he have gotten her flowers like Michael did? What did he do wrong. What was worse was that she lived right next to him. He sighed, sliding off his bed and trudging to his bathroom.

He scrunched his nose up, looking at his reflection. His eyed were red and puffy, his hair a mess, and very messy unkept facial hair started growing, making him look like a druggie. In other words he was a mess. He had started up his smoking habit again, and started going to clubs almost every night to try and forget about Kat. But every time Luke would leave some chicks house at the crack of dawn, tears would be streaming down his face as he made his way home.

A knock at the door made him peek his head out from the bathroom. Calum stood there in a fresh suit, except he still wore a pair of vans.

"Dude, why aren't you ready yet? Ash is waiting in the car. For us." As if on cue, a car horn sounded from outside. "And why do you look like a druggie?"

Luke shook his head, sitting on the edge of the bed. "I'm not going. The one girl I actually want to have an actual, stable relationship with turned me down. Again."

Calum rolled his eyes, picking up the suit Luke's mom had gotten him and throwing it at him. "Dude, shave the beard, get dressed and let's go. You're going to forget about Kat. She's just another silly little girl who isn't worth all this crying. Lets go out and have a good time. Just the bros with no hoes. Okay?" Luke laughed lightly at Calum's rhyme. He glances between his friend and the tux.

"Yeah maybe your right." Luke stood up and walked into the bathroom, shutting the door and getting ready for a night with no worry.

-----------

Luke fidgeted with his mask, a simple black piece of cloth, in the car as they pulled up to the building that the ball was being hosted at. Lights and balloons decorated the building entrance. Students were filing in, either with friends or a date in arm.

The three boys filed out of the car, girls watching them as they made their way to the doors.

Luke still had an underlying sadness that he wasn't here with Kat, but he pushed it aside. This was going to be a night out to forget it all and to kick off Christmas break.

They walked through the main lobby, following the teachers to the hall in which the ball was being taken place. He didn't want to admit it, but Luke was impressed. Lights were strung along the walls and ceilings, table on one side of the room and clear dancing space on the other. Decorations littered the walls. There was even a Christmas tree on the stage that was there. Supposedly a band was going to be playing for a bit until a DJ came out.

The boys milled around, taking a table to themselves, no-one else coming to sit down in the other 5 chairs that were empty.

Eventually music started up, girls dragging their dates out to the dance floor. The band was made up of middle aged men, except for a stunning lady singing a Christmas carol. It was all kind of cheesy, but hey, all school dances were cheesy.

Only after a couple minutes, a boy with silver hair came to view, tugging a girl along with him.

"Hey guys!" Michael exclaimed cheerfully. Chrissy greeted them with a small wave, her other hand, gripping onto Michael's.

"Hey dude!" Ashton replied, patting the free chair next to him. Michael gladly took up the offer, Chrissy sitting down next to him.

Luke eyed her wearily. God if only Kat were here. Chrissy made eye contact with him, tilting her head to the side as if to ask what was wrong.

The 5 teenagers made small talk before Ashton spoke up. "So Chrissy where the hell is Kat? I heard she might be coming to the dance." Luke's head perked up, staring at Chrissy.

Her body tightened, her gaze not meeting anyone's. "Uh, no she wasn't-"

"Chrissy, you're a pretty cool girl, but you're talking shit right now. We all know you're lying. Is Kat here or not? Because Lucas here has been going insane without his sweet little Juliet." Luke glared at Calum before returning his attention to Chrissy.

"Okay fine, yes she's here! But that's all I'm telling you." She crossed her arms together and pouted her lips, resembling a little kid. Luke chuckled and glanced around the room, quickly realizing he probably wouldn't be able to recognize Kat in the mass of kids with masks.

"Well we better be going, see you guys later." Michael excused himself, taking Chrissy's hand and disappearing into the crowd. Ashton stood up as well, but returned with three cups of punch, which was serverly spiked, for the three loners.

After a couple cups, Luke figured he better go and fix himself up before he grabbed a girl for the night. "I'll be right back, I've gotta use the bathroom." He said bluntly leaving the two slightly drunk boys at the table.

Luke stumbled down the main lobby until he found the bathrooms, rushing in quickly before he wet himself. That would not be fun. As he was leaving the bathroom though, something caught his eye. Well, more like something caught his ear.

"Chelsea, I need her to be standing on the stage by 10 a'clock tonight! If she isn't its going to ruin the whole thing!" Luke peered around the corner to see Sarah and her friend. He quickly turned back so he wouldn't get caught.

"I'll try to, but how am I-"

"That stupid Mrs. Christmas shit that the schools doing!" Sarah scolded. Luke blinked, vaugly remembering that the school was doing a Mrs. And Mr. Christmas award, basically prom king and Queen. Wasn't he nominated for that?

"Okay okay, I'll sabotage the voting. Promise." Chelsea promised scurrying away from Sarah.

Sarah left soon after muttering, "That punk bitch is going to pay."

Luke stayed glued to the wall, unsure why he had just evesdropped on. Who were they going to prank? Punk... A punk girl... Luke's eyes widened as realization creeped up onto him.

It was Chrissy. They were going after Chrissy.
