Chapter 2

The next day  I got up around 7. I quietly walked downstairs and in to the kitchen to grab a banana. I then made my way to the front porch to slip on my boots and walked to the barn. When I got to the barn it looked like someone was in there some of my tack was on the ground. I walked around the corner and saw my Mini Aussie Bella had ripped my reigns down. I walked over to her and grabbed them and patted her saying you silly dog. I grabbed my turquoise halter and walked to Star's pasture. I walked right to her and caught her. When I returned to the barn I saw my sister Ava grabbed her horse Ranger. He is always separated from the rest he is kind of spoiled. I tied Star up and went to grab some grain and my brush.
Ava- Well aren't you rude!
Addie- What are you talking about? I said as I looked confused
Ava- Well you didn't bother saying good morning or hi.
Addie- Oh I'm sorry. Good morning Ava.
Ava- Good morning to you to miss attitude.
Addie- Seriously Ava I'm not in the mood.
Ava- Why did Kaden upset you or are you just being bitchy today?
Addie- Kaden has nothing to do with this. I'm not in the mood.
Ava- Right well Tanner and I had a great night last night!
Addie- That's good I'm glad you had a great time.
Ava- He got me flowers and then we went to a romantic dinner in the middle of his pasture.
Addie- Sounds fun!
Ava- Oh I know what's wrong!
Addie- No you don't I'm fine. I got up on Star and headed to the pasture. I just needed to get away from everyone. Why does everyone think Kaden had something to do with this? Last I heard we were completely fine, well I hope anyway. Last time we spoke it was a few days ago. Maybe there is something wrong with us. I headed back to the arena to go work on barrels. I waited for Ava to get done. When she got done she just gave me a weird look. I just rolled my eyes and started working on the barrels. I was turning the first barrel when Star just stopped and I flew over her. I hit the ground kind of hard I had the air knocked out of me. I got back up on Star and started over. I made it to the first barrel again and this time she went around. I turned the last barrel and we were heading for home. After that good run I decided it was a good place to stop so I put her up and went inside. I thought to myself maybe I could call Kaden and go to lunch with him. During the summer he has a job. I went to my room got changed into a tank top and shorts, then I went to the bathroom and put my hair in a messy bun and put my makeup on. I got all finished so I grabbed my phone and called Kaden he picked up.
K- Hey
A- Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to go to lunch with me?
K- Yeah I would love to. Oh can Katie come with she's just a friend I work with.
A- Yeah I guess so.
K- Ok I have to go I will see you around noon then.
A- Ok
After that I walked downstairs and plopped on the couch. My mom and dad exchanged looks and my dad got up and walked out.
M- You ok sweetie?
A- Yeah I'm fine I'm going to lunch with Kaden. So I better get going.
I walked outside and got into my car and headed to town. I meet Kaden and Katie at a new restaurant. Kaden sat by me and Katie sat across from him. I had my hand on top of the table he grabbed my hand and locked his fingers into mine.
Katie- Oh, you guys are dating?
Kaden- Yeah we have been together for 4 months now.
Katie- Oh good for you two.
After she said that I smiled and looked at Kaden. Kaden whispered into my ear that they were just friends and nothing more. I said ok I believe you. He smiled and got up to go to the bathroom. At the time when he left I got a text message from my mom. I ignored her text so I don't seem rude. When Kaden got back he started talking about work. Him and Katie were laughing away about what had happened. I just smiled and looked out the window. Kaden noticed and said "So when is your rodeo?" "Oh umm this Thursday. You gonna come out and support me it's here?" "Yeah I will."
Katie- So what do you do in the rodeo?
Addie- I barrel race and breakaway.
Katie- Oh your that kind of girl!
Addie- Excuse me?
Katie- Most barrel racers are buckle bunny's and they seem to have multiple boyfriends.
Addie- Ok I've had it. Sorry Kaden I have to go. I tried paying for my lunch but Kaden said no I got this.
I smiled and said sorry I have to go. I walked out to my car and I called my best friend Sara. I told her everything that happened as I got off the phone with her I just got pulled into my driveway. I got out of my car and walked inside with tears falling down my face.
