Teenage Rodeo Life

Chapter 9

It has been a few days since I basically yelled at my dad. He hasn't said a word to me or made eye contact with me. I was recovering very well from my car accident. Corey has been coming over and taking care of me, which I am very stubborn. I was sitting in my room when my mom yelled for me to come downstairs. I went downstairs and to no surprise my dad was leaving to go to another rodeo. 

Mom- Hey sweetie can you go help your dad please.

Addie- I guess so.

Mom- Thanks sweetie. 

I walked outside to help my dad. I saw a turquoise duffle bag, which happened to be mine a lot of thoughts were going through my head. 

Addie- What's going on here?

Dad- You are coming with me! We need some father daughter time, I have been a complete asshole to you lately. I regret all of it and I was really stupid for not going to see you in the hospital. 

Addie- You just now figured that out? You know what dad why don't you take Ava instead I mean you two had a great time when I was in the hospital. 

Dad- What in the hell are you talking about. 

Addie- I'm  not fucking stupid! I found the damn receipts in the pickup the other day when I had to clean it out for you! You know what I'm not going so give me my clothes back and go to your damn rodeo. 

Dad- Addison Lee Hartsgrave get your butt back here now! 

I cringed hearing my whole name being said. I hate when people say my whole name I prefer Addie better.

Addie- What you made it obvious that I'm not important to you. Ava is why can't you leave me alone. 

Dad- Dammit Addie. You want to know the truth.

Addie- Yeah I do actually. 

Dad- Well I was on my way out to go see you when Ava told me that you didn't want to see me. I was broken like why would my little girl say that. So your sister insisted that we go have a father daughter day, I agreed to go. Then when I got back I saw your mom and she was all pissed at me too. I had to explain to her what happen. She told me that you wanted to see me really bad, then I knew your sister was jealous of you. I felt like a stupid person for that. 

Addie- Dad I'm really sorry I had no idea. I'm really sorry I was being a jerk to you.

Dad- It's ok, I don't blame you for acting the way you did. Now what do you say about that rodeo? 

Addie- Lets go!

~Few Days Later~ 

A few days ago was amazing I got to hang out with my dad and meet some new people. Corey has been stuck at work so I decided to take him some lunch. I stopped at Arby's and got him a sandwich and a Dr.Pepper his favorite. I drove to Jewell Automotive to see he was working on someone's car. I walked up to him with his lunch. He heard me come up behind me so he stopped working and wiped his hands on a rag. I held up his lunch and smiled, he walked over to the sink and washed his hands. We went to one of his workers office and sat in there.

Corey- Thank you so much for bringing me lunch.

Addie- No problem I knew you probably were hungry so I stopped and grabbed you something.

Corey- You're the best! Oh, guess what.

Addie- Hmm?

Corey- I have the best girlfriend ever! He leaned over and kissed me. I started blushing I was trying to hide it, but he noticed before I could do anything.

Corey- You're so cute when you blush.

Addie- Shut up! I said as I was blushing more. He just laughed and held my hand. We talked for awhile until he had to go back to work. He kissed me goodbye and told me he would call me later. I got in my car and drove home. I got home and my mom was sitting at the dining room table. 

Mom- Hey sweetie how was your lunch date?

Addie- It was really good!

Mom- That's good! I walked up stairs and took a nap. 

I woke up to Corey hovering over me and smiling. I started laughing, he got off of me and kissed me. 

Addie- How long have you been here? I said as I was laughing.

Corey- For like 5 minutes your mom let me in. Then your dad had a talk with me. 

Addie- How did that go?

Corey- It was good he told me not to hurt you or something bad will happen.

Addie- Oh my goodness I'm sorry about him.

Corey- It's all good now get your ass up and let's go hang out.

Addie- Ok

I got up and got all prettied up I'm guessing we are going on a date. I walked downstairs and Corey was standing at the bottom of the stairs talking to my parents and my brother Brandon. As soon as they saw me they all looked up at me. 

Brandon- There is my pretty little sister.

Addie- Thanks Brandon. I said with a smile on my face. 

Corey- You ready to go babe?

Addie- Yeah whenever you are. 

Mom and Dad- Be careful you guys! I looked back at my parents they were smiling. Corey opened my door for me and helped me in the he got in. I was staring at Corey thinking how he is a real gentleman. He looked at me and smiled I returned the smile and we drove off. He took me to the best steak house there is in Fort Worth. We were having a nice supper until Nicole and Tanner walked up. 

Nicole- Oh hey Corey so you are dating this slut huh. Didn't think you would stoop that low. 

Corey- Well she's better than you thats for damn sure. 

Tanner- Nicole that wasn't nice.

Nicole- What my ex best friend is dating my ex boyfriend. 

Addie- Excuse me but you stopped being a friend to me when Kaden and I started dating. Then you tried ruining my life, I'm not a slut like you so turn around and get the hell out of my face. Before I knock you on your ass!

Nicole- No, Tanner and I are having supper here and we are sitting right next to you. 

Addie- Well I sure hope you can shut the hell up then. 

So after that argument Corey and I got our food and started talking. We were talking about how school is coming up and that he will be working some extra shifts. After that we walked out of the restaurant holding hands. I was thinking to myself that Corey is an amazing boyfriend ever!
