Teenage Rodeo Life

Chapter 4

It was the day of the rodeo. I got up around 6:30 in the morning so we could be ready to leave by 7:30. I couldn't sleep at all so. I decided to wake up and got in the shower. I got out and put a tank top on then my rodeo shirt. It was a red long sleeve shirt with a cross on the left arm. I put my hair in a side braid and put my makeup on. I decided to wear my miss me jeans. After I got everything ready I walked downstairs and everyone was up and ready to go. My mom made us breakfast my oh my mom's cooking is the best. My sister Ava and I always have to listen to one of my mom's barrel racing stories. They are long and boring sometimes. We pulled into the arena in Fort Worth. I texted Kaden to see if he was still coming. It was 20 minutes till he replied.

K- Hey sorry I am coming I woke up late.

A- It's ok I am about to start

After that I didn't get a reply. I rode back to the trailer to grab something. Then I saw Kaden with flowers. I got off of star and ran up to him and hugged him. I was worried for nothing I guess. Kaden looked down at me and smiled. Thank you so much Kaden, I love you, your the best ever. Your welcome sweetie, now go kick some ass! I will thank you babe. He gave me a good luck kiss and went and sat by my parents. I was circling star around trying to keep her from getting too hot. As the announcer said my number 25. I started getting butterflies in my stomach. I started trotting towards the gate. When we got through the gate it was 1 second before Star started running down the alley and to the first barrel. I got to the third barrel and the announcer said "Wow that was an impressive run we have saw from her. Everyone Addie's time was a 16.23." When I got back through the gate I looked at the jumbotron. It caught me when I was smiling. This was a big rodeo so there was some famous people. My sister had a great run too. She ended up getting a 17.23 I was ten seconds faster. I didn't breakaway today my horse Rango is getting rested from an accident we had. I went back to the trailer to grab some water when my Grandma walked up to me and told me good job.

Grandma- Good job honey

Addie- Thank you grandma

Grandma- I don't know why but you look like your father!

Addie- Really everyone says that. I have to go grandma but it was nice seeing you love you.

Grandma- Love you too

I got back on Star and rode back to the arena. I was thinking about what my grandma was saying. My sister noticed that something was bothering me.

Ava- Hey are you ok?

Addie- Umm yeah I'm good.

Ava- Addie you're my twin sister I know you better than anyone else. So tell me what's wrong

Addie- Grandma came up to me and said that Kaden left during my run.

Ava- It will be ok love you!

Addie- Thanks Ava I love you too!

All the barrel racers went back into the arena to get their awards. I looked up to wear my parents were sitting and saw Kaden was with Katie. I just rolled my eyes and went up and got my award. I didn't pay attention to my award, but yet why do I need to worry about him. Rodeo is my life ugh why does my happiness always get ruined. After we got our rewards I went and unsaddled Star and got her water. I went back and watched the bull riding. I love watching the bullriding. After the bull riding was done. We got loaded up and went home. I helped unload the horses and went straight to my room. I put my pajamas on and went and sat out on my patio. My mom came up and asked me what's wrong.

Mom- Hey there you are sweetie. What's wrong?

Addie- Hey mom I just needed to be alone I guess.

Mom- Addie, you are my daughter I know when you're upset. Now tell me what's wrong!

Addie- Well lately everyone said Kaden was with another girl and I saw that it was true.

Mom- Well get rid of him then!

Addie- I don't know mom!

Mom- Well then suck it up!

Addie- Seriously mom your telling me that! You and dad were going to divorce because of one damn thing!

Mom- Dammit Addie. You're starting to piss me off! Your father and I thought it was the best at that time.  We went to marriage counseling. After that your dad and I still had feelings so we stayed together. Now are you satisfied.

Addie- Ok damn you don't have to be pissy.
Mom- Shut the hell up and get your stuff together now! Before you get in more trouble.
Addie- Fine!
I stomped off and got my stuff together so we can get home.
