Chapter 10

Time has flown by fast it is now August and that means we go back to school soon. Ava and I will be Juniors and Corey will be a senior. I am going to miss him when he is gone. He is my everything I can think about him all day and not be bored. I love him so much that I would do anything for him. We were in our white 2015 chevy Tahoe when my mom interrupted my thoughts.

Mom- Addie what are you staring at?

Addie- Oh I was just thinking about school starting next week. 

Mom- Oh ok well let's go get your school supplies 

We drove into town and got all of our school supplies. I was texting Corey when I accidently bumped into someone. I turned to see who it was and to my surprise it was Nicole. She looked like she has been crying for awhile.

Addie- Nicole are you ok?

Nicole- Addie just the person I needed. No I'm not ok.

Addie- What's wrong?

Nicole-I've been so mean to you lately and Tanner had enough of it so he dumped me. I hate how I've been like why did I ruin our friendship. I guess it drove me crazy knowing you moved onto Corey.

Addie- Nicole I'm so sorry to hear that. Do you still love Corey?

Nicole- Not really I mean he seems so much happier with you. All we did is fight and then his parents didn't like me. I just want to be friends again. If you can't forgive me I understand.

Addie- You know what Nicole I am willing to forgive you. I just want you to know that what you did was wrong but we all make mistakes when we are hurting. 

Nicole- Ok, thank you Addie.

Addie- No problem you are going to come stay at my house tonight.

We got back to my house and Nicole and I were having a blast. I told Corey about it he seemed kind of mad. I asked him why he was upset, but then he never replied. I guess it doesn't matter anyway. The next day I drove Nicole home. I decided while I was out and about I would stop at Corey's house maybe to surprise him. I drove into his driveway and got out of my car. I walked up to the door as I was about to knock Corey answered. 

Corey- Uh hey

Addie- Hey, is this a good time?

Corey- Yeah come in. As I walked into his house I noticed all of the party cups lying around. I was in complete shock. I turned around to see Corey looking down at his feet. 

Addie- What in the hell happened here?

Corey- I kind of threw a party and it kind of got out of control. 

Addie- Why didn't you tell me?

Corey- Well cause maybe you were too busy hanging out with my ex girlfriend. 

Addie- Is that why you were mad at me because I was helping out a friend in need. 

Corey- I don't know, I was kind of drunk and I have a really bad hangover. 

Addie- I guess that's your fault then. 

Corey-Can you help me clean up please?

Addie- I guess I can help.

Corey- Thank you so much babe.

I helped Corey clean up his mess. Let me tell you my back never hurt that much before. I got a text from Ava asking if we could hang out. I didn't know what to say so I said I guess that won't be a bad idea. I told Corey I had to go. He kind of got upset that I wasn't going to hang out with him. I drove home and got ready to go to Dallas which is 30-40 minutes from my house. Ava decided to drive our Tahoe. I don't know how she got away with that one. I was talking to Ava when I was getting text messages from Corey. I ignored him for a little bit, but then Ava told me to answer him.

~Text Message Between Corey~

Corey- Hey we need to talk! Are you there? Hello quit ignoring me.

Addie- Corey James Evans seriously stop! I am having a day with my sister if you don't like that then keep it to yourself. You shouldn't have thrown that party last night and we wouldn't be arguing right now! 

Corey- Seriously you were hanging out with my ex girlfriend and she tried to ruin your life.

Addie- You know what Corey you are 18 stop acting like a 2 year old. Some people act out when they are hurting, I know what she meant by you guys fighting all the time. She used to be a really great friend of mine and people deserve second chances. Just like I have given Kaden a second chance.

Corey- She told you about that? Wait are you guys just friends then?

Addie- Yes, she did and yes we are just friends we aren't going to date again.

Corey- Ok, I have to go will you swing by the shop at my house so we can talk?

Addie- Yeah I can. After I sent that text he read it a minute later and didn't reply. I was upset on how he acted. I put my iPhone in the cup holder and sighed. Ava knew something was bothering me so I told her all about it. We got into Dallas and did some shopping we got home about 4:30. I told her to drop me off at Corey's shop so we could talk. Man I was not looking forward to this. I saw Corey working on his pickup I walked up to him and stood by his pickup. 

Corey- Hey babe.

Addie- Hey 

Corey- Look I know you're pissed at me and I get it I was acting like an asshole. I'm sorry babe I just over reacted when you were hanging out with Nicole. 

Addie- It's ok everyone acts out about some things

Corey- I really love you Addison Lee Hartsgrave!

Addie- I love you too Corey James Evans!

Corey- Hey let's go have some fun before school starts Thursday.

Addie- Haha ok.

Corey and I went out mudding he brought a blanket and a picnic basket full of food. He started a fire, he sat the food up on the back of his pickup and set the blanket on the tailgate. We were listening to music and he was holding me tight. We were sitting on the tailgate when the song God Gave Me You by Blake Shelton came on. Corey jumped off the tailgate and grabbed me. We were slow dancing to the song when it started to rain. We finished slow dancing to the song. By the time the song was over we were both soaked it was the best time ever though. Corey dropped me off at my house I was about to get out until I felt him tug on my arm, he pulled me close to him and kissed me. I got out and went upstairs to my room and got changed. That was the best night ever.
