Battle of the Gente Animali

Passerie

" Hey, why did you attack us like that, " yelled Canis. The girl turned around surprised that Canis followed her into her hideout. 

" Oh sorry about that you were the first travellers I had seen in weeks, " said the girl as if robbing people of their possessions was a normal past time. " If I didn't take your food I would have had to eat worms until more people came through this part of the woods."    

" Okay, " said Canis " But why do live here?"

" It's the only place I have ever lived " replied the girl " my parents were killed by the black soldiers when I was eight. My name is Passerie by the way what is yours.

"Canis...are those your parents in that photo," asked Canis 

"Yes, my mum's name was Rosella she was a Gente Animali to she turned into a Rosella. My dad's name was Salto he turned into a sparrow that's where I get my animal tra. We had a cottage in the woods her until the black soldiers burned it down this picture and my old teddy bear were the on;y things a could save from the flames. I rob people of their food and money so I have some human food, I use the money i get to buy food  I usually get by by eating insects and worms." Canis could feel his eye's swell with tears we new how it felt to loose a parent.

" Why don't you come with us heading towards Mammifero we could use a person of-." 

" Mammifero, are you crazy, if a bird like me goes to Mammifero I'll be captured and tortured!" Started Passerie

" We'll just say your a normal person, if you don't turn into a bird they can't prove it, plus we could really use a person of your talent with us ." It seemed to take forever before Canis convinced Passerie to come with them. She collected some off her possessions her knife( which was enchanted so it became part of her when she turned in a bird), her teddy bear, some gold coins and a pouch off electric blue powder which could turn a Gente Animali into a animal against their will.  Passerie had one last look at her tree home and then flew out of the hole and on to the ground. It took a considerable amount longer for Canis to get down the tree. They walked through the forest, Canis calling Ferre and his mother's name. When they finally found Ferre and Anne, Ferre bellowed 

" Ha, you caught her great we can hand her over to the black soldiers and get some money for her." Passerie shot Canis a look as if to say, tell them or I'll fly away with your food again. Canis explain how he had befriended Passerie and how she could help them. By the time he finished Ferre's jaw was low he had seen it ever. When he finally came round he started yelling.

" What she beat us up and robbed us, what to say she won't do it again. She-is -Dangerous." Anne looked more concerned than afraid of Passerie

" Canis how do you plan on getting past the guards at Mammifero they'll never let a bird in." asked Anne 

" We can just say that she is a regular human " replied Canis

" Oh yeah like they going to believe that rubbish" said Ferre like he wasn't accepting to believe what he was hearing.

" I'm not leaving her here without her and that is final " said Canis in a assertive tone 

" I guess it couldn't hurt " said Anne finally 

" WHAT!" bellowed Ferre " Anne how can you take this seriously" 

" It's settled then she's coming with us "  Ferre stopped to let this settle in and the finally said 

" Find but I'm keeping an ey on you missy "

" Ok so which way to the town you mentioned earlier " asked Canis who was now facing her this way 

" This way she" she replied " hold my bag " she dumped her bag into Canis's arms and flew off 

" Well I guess we follow her" Sugested Canis and the jogged after Passerie
