They had been riding over bumpy roads all night. Canis had been jerked up and down so much his butt was starting to bruise. Canis and his friends hadn't slept all night The sun was just creeping over the horizon and a town was into to view. They headed down a steep hill and into the valley where the town lay. When they came to the entrance a signpost stood reading: Felidae the town of cats. Sure enough, the town was full of cats. Everywhere Canis looked there were cats. Cats in alleys, cats on fences, cats on roofs, cats in the street.

"Cats, why cats," Canis hear Passerie mutter under her breath. Canis couldn't understand why cats were such a problem for Passerie. Then it hit him her parents had been birds and died when she was six. They probably told her stuff like cats are vicious creatures that rip birds limb from limb and died when she was six. Unfortunately, no one told her that when your human cats are furry little creatures that like to cuddle. The wagon stopped in front of a market stall where a woman was setting out supplies.

"Ah George on the dot as usual," the woman looked up to greet George. She had tall build and was rather skinny, she had fair skin and light brown eyes, but her distinguishing feature was her big bushy hair which twice as big as her head.

"Ah and you brought slaves," said the women gesturing to Canis and his friends.

"Sorry Katie but they're not slaves," replied George.

"So they're workers," persisted the one called Katie.

"No, they're travelers. My friend David and his daughter got in a bit of a pickle with some black soldiers and this lot saved him. He then asked me if I could take this lot to Felidae. Trust me if you knew David you would not be able to say no either," explained George.

"Aha I see so they're customers," said Katie very sure she just hit the nail on the head.

"We're not here to make you money," growled Passerie annoyed that this woman wasn't taking them seriously. Katie stepped back and put her hand on her chest looking very offended.

"Well, it's good to know that someone's got manners," said Katie through gritted teeth.

"Oh thank you I spent the last ten years living by myself with no other human being to talk or relate to but as long as people still think I'm well-mannered that's ok," replied Passerie in a sarcastic girly voice.

"Girls, girls lets just get on with the day," interrupted George. As they had been standing there, a group of four cats were coming towards them brushing up against their legs.

"Aww it's so cute," said Anne picking up a white cat with black patches. Passerie shrieked and jumped back onto the wagon.

"Put it down, it's playing with you before it goes in for the kill," said Passerie seemingly very worried.

"Hahaha, she's afraid of cats," cackled Katie wiping a tear from her eyes "You really shouldn't have come to Felidae if that's the case."

"How was I supposed to know that we would end up in the cat capital of the land," said Passerie still keeping an eye on the cats.

"Passerie, the worst this cat can do is bite my fingers or scratch my arm," reassured Anne, whom now was scratching the cat behind the ear so the cat purred affectionately.

"C'mon girl I need these crates unloaded sometime today," said George in a bored tone.

"They don't look like they want to kill me," said Passerie in a wavering voice. She put her foot down and almost immediately a tabby and a siamese cat started brushing past her legs.

"Huh, they're not as deadly as I thought," said Passerie hopping off the wagon and petting the tabby cat on the head.

"Where was it you lot were heading to anyway," asked George now unloading a crate labeled cat food.

"Mammifero," Ferre answered with a pure white Persian cat squeezing between his legs.

"Oh I know where that is," said Katie looking very pleased with herself "It's a three-day hike in that direction," pointing behind her.

"What, a three-day hike," said Canis looking thunderstruck," surely there is a faster way," asked Canis.

"Oh, there is," replied Katie her smile touching either side of her face, "I happen to have some horses for sale." Canis opened his mouth to say great how much but has quickly interrupted by Katie.

"But seen as little miss Cat-phobia over here, said you lot weren't going to make me any money, I don't think I will," said Katie indignantly.

"What do we have to do to make it up to you," asked Anne with a bored, dull like tone.

"Well first you lot are going to help George put all these crates in the back...for free," said Katie with an even smugger look on her face than ever.

"What?!," yelled Ferre so loudly it made the cat jump from Anne's arms.

"Do you guys want the horses or not?" snarled Katie. Ferre mumbled something under his breath which Canis didn't hear, but he was guessing it wasn't I love that woman. "Then lady rude is going to apologize to me," carried on Katie gesturing towards Passerie.

"Appsolutally not," replied Passerie in a loud defiant tone, " I will not apologize to her,"

"Well, if you guys don't want the horses that's cool," said Katie turning her back on them. Canis, Anne and Ferre all scowled at Passerie.

"Fine," Passerie said after finally giving in, "I'm sorry being rude. you happy now."

"I guess so," replied Katie," And finally seen as you guys are going to Mammifero. You will take this parcel to a friend called Simia he's a dealer in Mamifero," Katie stopped to let the group think.

"We'll do it," said Anne at last. They spent an hour unloading the wagon until the last box was in. Katie handed them the parcel which Anne took and placed in her bag.

"Okay the horse are in the back," said and Katie and she led the round the building to a stable with some horses tethered to a pole. Katie untied two of the them and put saddles on th horses
