The Long table dining table was laid out in all manner of food. There were potatoes, carrots, tomatoes and parsnips. There was bread and pasta with a side helping of cheese. Chickens, quails, trout, salmon lined the table but in front of the king was a large roast Turkey. The King began to eat and the other followed suit.

"So have out with it how do you plan to stop Vasatator?" King asked with a mouth full of turkey

"Well, your majesty we believe that if we were able to forge a sword using the DNA of the six animali rulers blade would be able to kill Vastator." Anne put in politely. The king almost choked on his food, then coughed it up on along the table.

"It's a fool's errand you couldn't get the six tribes to give up their feathers or scales. Even in this time of desperation we all still remain at each other throats."

"But my king-"

"That's enough" The King Leeuw shouted, "You will eat and then you will leave, I should have you thrown out for wasting my time."

Passerie poked around at some cheese on her plate. "What's the matter with you lass you've barely eaten anything?" The king asked in a rude manner.

"I'm not hungry," Passerie muttered

"Non-sense, have some of the chicken it tastes delicious,"

"I told you I'm not hungry," Passerie said a little louder

"Don't tell me you feel sorry for it. It was just a dumb bird." King Leeuw spoke in a disapproving tone.

"I told you I'm not hungry," Passerie almost shouted now standing. The King eyed her suspiciously. He signalled to one of his attendants and whispered something in his ear, the attendant quickly hurried out of the room and dinner continued as normal. Just before they finished, however, the attendant came back with a white Persian cat sitting on a pillow.

"Ah, there he is," King Leeuw said in a calm sensitive tone. "I would like to introduce you four to my most trusted friend Leopold." Passerie took a sharp intake of air but maintained her composure.

"Leopold here has got me through some rough times and I don't just mean emotionally. You see I have trained Leopold to seek out enemy spies especially avian spies."

A sense of terror swept over the group.

"Go on Leopold," The King placed the cat on the table and let it walk down to where Passerie was sitting. The cat looked her in the eyes and meowed.

"I knew it, guards arrest her," The King yelled.

"There is some kind of mistake I'm not a spy," Passerie tried to justify for why the cat had acted in that manner.

"My king please," Anne begged.

Guards closed in on Passerie she started to panic, she locked eyes with Canis for a fleeting moment. They only conveyed only one word, Sorry. She transformed into a sparrow and flew out an open window.

"Tikeri, have the guards search the city for the girl," The King ordered. The male bodyguard responded.

"Yes, my king," The bodyguard left the room.

"Gepardi!"

"Yes, your majesty," The female now at his side.

"Release the bats tell them to catch anything that flies."

"Right away," The female bodyguard rushed out of the room.

"Guards have these three arrested,"

"What!," The trio exclaimed in unison

"Under arrest for treason and fraternising with an avian spy,"

The guards restrained the three and dragged them out of the dining room.

"You can't do this!," Cannis yelled, "We only wanted to help, she only wanted to help."

"They all do," The king replied in a tone as cold as ice. Cannis didn't know why but those words chilled his very core.
