James POV:
After the baking fiasco most of the people had to take showers. Except me! I had managed to avoid the food throwing by hiding under the table. I somehow I got a bit of frosting on my face but that was all.
While the others took turns taking showers I helped Mitchell's mom clean the kitchen. Which I figure is particularly unfair since I did nothing to create the mess. But neither did his mom, well except a bit of whipped cream.
After everything and everyone was clean Landon and I decided to go home and get some rest. I had a big hockey game tomorrow to get ready for.
When we got home Levi wasn't there. I figured he probably went out with Aspen or something. We sat around for awhile doing nothing when Landon ran out into the living room excitedly.

"Mitchell is having a bonfire tonight! It's kinda last minute but we are definitely going" she giggled. Lately she and Mitchell had become really close. The kind of best friends that flirt all the time. It was kind of annoying but I just let it happen.

"Coolio, who all is going?" I responded not really caring about this party.

"Everyone!" She said as she bounded out of the room happily. She came back out a moment later and hobbled into the kitchen playing some weird music off her phone and singing.

"Don't pray for us! We don't need no modern jesus, to roll with us. The only one we know is never, giving up, the only faith we have is faith in us" she sang along. I recognized it as "Modern Jesus" by Portugal. The man. I groaned I didn't really like that type of music.

Just as I was about to tell her to change it, Levi stumbled into the room covered in snow. His red hair was slightly damp and matted, and his freckly cheeks were red. He went skiing. I sighed. He always went skiing.

He didn't say anything he just waltzed into the kitchen to help Landon make dinner.

My mom walked in a half hour later with Aubrey. She plopped her on the couch. Then left again saying she had somewhere to be. Somewhere much more important then her kids. Like the bar or a club. I scoffed and rolled my eyes as she tumbled out of the door again.

Aubrey looked sad that her mom had left so I decided to do what always cheered her up and play with her hair. I braided it, which turned out to be more difficult then you might think since she had such thick curly hair.

I looked into the kitchen to see Levi and Landon dancing around cheerily to another song by Portugal. The man. They both knew the words by heart and used kitchen utensils as microphones. Our family had always been super close. We all loved each other and supported each other through everything. Our mom had always been a bitch. But back when our dad was in the picture she wasn't as bad. When he left all of us siblings got closer and our mom got meaner. She developed a drinking problem and was almost never home.

When our dad first died Levi got depressed and was rarely seen out of his bed room but Landon pulled him out of his funk rather quickly. She was good at that kind of thing.

"Oh Levi can you do me a huge favor?" Landon asked over the music. He nodded. "Watch Aubrey tonight? James and I have a bonfire to go to!" She yelled. He laughed and nodded. "Awesome"
