We sit in our cafe,
The one on our street
While we drink our coffee
Smiling and joking, like we always do
Tomorrow you turn 74
Your hand, getting shakier with the days
I stare at you, like I did 58 years ago;
When you asked me to be yours
Your hands, running through your hair
When we kissed first
Your lips, hesitant but eager
56 years back; when you got down on your knees
Your fingers, clutching my happiness in a single band
47 years; As I walked down the Isle
Your unforgetable grin
44; As I gave birth to our first,
You're wrinkled, worried eyes
43, 42, 41, 40, 39, 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32, 31, 30
29, 28, 27, 26, 25, 24, 23, 22, 21, 20, 19, 18, 17, 16
15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2..
and tomorrow.
You see my love,
Every year, every month, week, day, hour
Every minute I fall, in love with you,
All over again
I don't see the old man,
With white hair and multiple-dimpled smile
That mirrors mine,
I see a timeline, of us, our time together
I thank God for giving my you, my dear
So I hope tomorrow as you make your wish
Wish for another year, that we can spend together.

The Journey
PoetryHey guys, I've decided to publish an anthology, not necessarily based on my own experience, but my collected thoughts and ideas. I'm putting out a poem a day. I hope you enjoy it..
