(Genevieve's POV)

"Enzo stop! I said stop." I yelled but he didn't stop and leaned over me, almost pinning me to the wall.

I shut my eyes tightly in fear but contrary to my fear I felt soft and warm palms on my cheeks and when I opened my eyes I saw him caressing my cheeks while looking at me with sympathetic eyes.

"I believe you." He said and I was shocked to hear that.

"You...Aren't you angry with me?" I asked timidly and he said, "Genevieve, you know, I love my sister very much, so yes, I got angry, but I also know that lying to a vampire isn't easy." He moved away from me a little, took a deep breath, and said, "I know my sister inside out, Genevieve. I know every single nerve of her. And that's why I can say with full confidence that you are not lying."

I was shocked by his words. I couldn't believe that he had no objection to whatever I said! Honestly, I couldn't believe I was standing in front of Aurora's brother. The same Aurora who had ruined my life. His eyes were filled with pain and remorse as if he regretted for what his sister had done.

"Enzo!" I whispered, tears welling up in my eyes. I hugged him with trembling hands and started sobbing. He hugged me firmly, saying, "Shhh... this fight isn't just yours anymore, it's ours."

(Monica's POV)

I ran into the hospital and was shocked by the sight. Kyle's father was sobbing, and Kyle was staring blankly at nothing. Meanwhile, Mayson and his parents were trying to console them but the situation didn't seem under control. It was something serious. Very serious. Then someone placed their hand on my shoulder and said, "Monica!"

A while ago I was in my clinic and during that time I was talking to Mayson's mother on the phone. Actually, she had invited me to Mayson's birthday party, but I had already told her in advance that I wouldn't be able to come because I have to attend my patients. Although she agreed, she still called me today to express her regret over my inability to come. After talking to her, as soon as I hung up the phone, within an hour, I got a call from Maya and I was shocked by what she said to me, "Sister, come to hospital as soon as possible, Kyle's mother is in very serious condition. I'm sending you the location..."

... And now after reaching the hospital, "Monica!" Maya called me, placing her hand on my shoulder, and said, "situation is horrible..." and after hearing that I ran towards Kyle. As soon as he saw me, he said, "my mom... someone tried to ki-kill... they are saying... she will not sur-survive... my m-mom..." Tears started flowing from his eyes like a waterfall and he broke down on my shoulder. He was crying hysterically and I embraced him tightly, while I too was unable to hold back my tears.

(Eric's POV)

Aurora dragged me back to where I'd fled. She was furious at the moment, so I silently complied to whatever she was doing. She sat me down on the same rickety cot and began searching through the bags she has brought from somewhere. She took out some medicine and an ointment from one bag, and started applying it on to my wounds. I was surprised by her actions because I didn't think she would have even the slightest bit of sympathy.

After applying medicine to my wounds, she said, "I went to the human world to bring you food and medicine. You can't survive by drinking blood like us, and you have a lot of bruises, it can leads to infection." Then she placed a bag near me and said, "There's some food in this, eat it, and there's water too." Saying this, she sat on a small chair in the corner and started looking out of the broken window which I had broken to escape.

"I...umm... thank you." I mumbled and she said, "don't. Don't when you hate me. Don't you Eric?"

I sighed and said, "If you stop giving me reasons to hate you, I won't."

She looked at me, deadpan and said, "I can't. In fact, to be honest, whatever I did today will only double your hatred for me."

"What you did?" I asked in fear and she said, "I killed someone today. A woman." My breath hitched hearing this because yesterday she told me that she had already killed Genevieve and my heart had stopped beating after hearing that and now she is saying she has killed someone again today.

Tears of hatred and furry welled up in my eyes and I said, "you were right. You will never be able to make yourself not hateable. You disgust me Aurora Russell."

She chuckled bitterly and said, "I don't care. My love for you is enough for me to survive."

"I wish you die." I shouted and threw the bag of food she brought for me.

She slowly came towards me and was about to slap me but stopped and said, "I'm helpless. Can you live without food? No, can you? Neither can we. And this is our food. Blood."

(Aurora's POV)

I picked up the bag that had fallen on the floor, placed it back next to him, and said, "Well, it's a good thing the food inside didn't fall on the floor, otherwise it would have spoiled."

I paused for a moment, then took a deep breath and said, "You haven't eaten anything since last night. Now eat something. You hate me, not yourself, do you?"

His innocent face, his wet eyelids, his body trembling with fear were eating me up from within. Today for the first time I felt as if I had committed a grave sin. For the first time I felt guilty because I had hurt his heart. I was breaking down with pain inside.

"Please leave me. Let me go. Today is my brother's birthday and I couldn't even wish him. My family must be worried as hell. Please let me go. Why are you doing this? Why are you killing people everyday? Why? You said that vampires need blood once every three months, so why are you killing innocent people everyday?" He said while crying his heart out.

"I don't kill people every day. I killed that woman today because I needed blood." I said.

"Then why did you kill Genevieve? Whyyy?" He shouted but I didn't answer and went back and sat in that chair and he kept weeping and then fell asleep, without eating or drinking anything, even today.
