Julius: *throws clocks on the floor* GODDAMMIT GINGER
~~~~~
Time looked at Julius, looked at Elise, promptly grabbed the book and dived under the table. Elise scrambled after her."Go away!" Time yelled from under the table. "We're not hiding anything!"
"If you weren't hiding anything you wouldn't have run." Julius pointed out.
"Good point." Elise replied flatly. "But we need the book!" She took the sharpie out of her pocket and hid it behind her back, nodding slightly at Time. "Open the book." Elise muttered under her breath.
Time opened the book and Elise wrote, 'Julius will leave the room.'
"Wait," Julius said suddenly. "Why am I even here again?"
"I don't know." Time lied.
"Damn, now I'm farther behind in my work." Julius kept on growling how he was going to be behind in a quiet whisper as he left the room and both Elise and Time let out a collective sigh of relief. The words in the diary subtly changed to 'Julius has left the room.'
"This thing is amazing!" Time cried, hugging the book. Elise watched her with a small smile on her face.
...as long as you don't read it...
Elise solved her dancing problem quickly, but when she tried to warn everyone of the danger of going to the ball, the words erased themselves.
'~Sorry. That's against my rules, little lady~.'
Do you think I give a shit?
Elise repeated trying to write three times, but the sharpie seemingly ran out of ink. Time watched her.
"Fuck." Elise dropped the sharpie and wiped her hands on her pants. "Right now?"
"Ah, well, the fates are mean." Time replied. "You can at least go the the ball now."
"NO! No. I, uh, don't have a dress." Elise panicked slightly.
"Oh, that's no problem. Julius can get you one." Time said. "Come on, let's go."
Elise used the side of her shirt to get the book back into her pocket, but decided to take it out and put it next to the last step of the stairs. She would grab it on the way out.
They found Julius in his office, fixing clocks as usual. Elise burst in in a frenzy. "JULIUS!" She yelled. Julius didn't look up.
"Are you always yelling?" He answered in a pained voice.
"It's time for the ball but I don't have a dress!" Elise said. The sky was a misty and pale dawn. Next would be dusk, which seemed correct.
"Yeah?" Julius said, uninterested. Time grabbed her arm and pulled her over to the desk.
"Over here."
Julius clapped twice, and there was a bright light. Elise closed her eyes so she didn't get blinded. When she opened her eyes again, she was wearing a dress. It had several roses on it, some white and some red, and the fabric was a pinkish silk. Time was wearing a gray dress with blue bows going up the side and she had several more tiny blue bows in her hair. Julius was now wearing a suit as he gave his gloves a final tug.
"There. We better get going." Julius said in an emotionless tone, and Elise somehow remembered that he hated the ball because of the large crowds there.
"Okay! Let's go!" Elise hummed with a sort of fake cheerfulness. "Off to the..."
She didn't say it. The last thing that would happen in Heart Castle. A manslaughter.
"Mei! Come here and wash the plates!" Ghost whined. "I need to eat!"
"God! You're all so ungrateful!" Soumei dropped Yandere(who she had been holding by the front of his shirt) and stormed over to the sink.
"I'll do the dishes for once." Rin waved her away. "You find Prince, he was out late again."
Soumei put her face in her hands and took several calming deep breaths. "Okay." She sighed. "Thank you, Rin. I'll go find Prince, it's almost time for the ball on the Country of Hearts. He has to attend."
"You do that." Rin took the washcloth and removed his glasses, setting them on the table. Soumei brushed her hair and grabbed her purse, not exactly sure where she would find Prince.
...He's been going to the club a lot lately, maybe there?...
She left the apartment and made a list of places she could try. Soumei quickly made it to the local bar. Technically(at age 14) she wasn't allowed to go inside, but with the crowd Soumei easily snuck in. She spotted Prince in a corner talking with a girl and drinking from a suspicious bottle. Soumei narrowed her eyes.
"Prince," Soumei walked up to him and tugged on his sleeve. "It's time for the ball. Please don't just skip it and drink your problems away."
Prince looked at her with contempt. "You're such a child. Go home and do the dishes."
"Prince!" tears started to well up in Soumei's eyes. "Come home...Rin's already doing the dishes. I promise, I'll leave you alone if you'll only come with me. Once the ball is over you can do whatever you want."
"I don't care about the stupid ball, okay?" Prince hissed with a slur to his words, taking a long sip of whatever alcohol he was drinking and throwing the empty bottle at Soumei, who barely caught it.
"Prince, stop. You're drunk, and I don't wanna have to force you to come home."
"Shut up!"
Soumei woke up in a cold sweat, seemingly in her bed.
Was that a dream? No.
"Priiiiince!" Soumei yelled. The illusion was removed and she was back in the bar, but Prince was nowhere to be seen. "What happened to you?" She whimpered to no one in particular. "You're so cold..."
