The Forest

I woke up with Gaara still asleep on my lap, on the roof, at high noon. It was an odd setting but it works. I tap Gaara's cheek. "Gaara nii-chan, you need to get up. It is time for the exams. He rolls off me and raises his head rubbing his eyes. "Mmmm already?" he mumbles. "It is just about noon, nii-chan," I deadpan. "You're kidding!" he scramble to stand up. "I gotta go get ready. So see you in the first exam hall!" I wave as I enter my house, shower, change collect every piece of weaponry and food pills and store them in scrolls. I teleport in front of the building were the first exam is held. I walk up the stairs and notice a commotion on the second floor. "Please let us through!" I girl with two buns on her head pleads. I walk in between her and the two "genin". "Why don't you go bother someone else. and take the genjustu off while your at it," I smirk. "It isn't even the third floor. It is still the second. Naruto, Sasuke, Sakura follow me," I motion them forward. We walk to the right room. Before they entered I stop them. "I just want to let you guys know that I can't take the test with you guys as a team," I smile sadly. "Why not Hono-chan?" Naruto asks. "I will tell you after the exams, alright? Anyway, let's go in," we walk in the exam hall.

Time skipp~

After a rude introduction to the sound ninja, Ibiki explains the rules. We draw number for where we sit. I sit closest to the door no matter what number. It was because I would need the fastest escape path in case something were to happen. They pass out the test and I notice how frantic Naruto was. I hope he will find out the meaning. I solve all questions with supreme ease.

Time skipp~

The remaining candidates stay in the room as we listen to more lecturing and rules. Little to say a half dresses lady bursts through the window and tells us to go the the forest of death. We learn what we do and Submit the form that says they won't be sued if we died. Fun. When I submit the form, I get a scroll, heaven. We all line up at our respective gates and file into the woods. I dash through the woods and seek shelter near water. I find a tall nearly unclimbable tree and set up camp. I knew my mission so I scouted the area for any signs of him. I bounce from tree to tree for a while. I notice a very large snake and I approach it. I knew it was his. He like to leave his toys out after playing. I unsheathe my katana from my back and slice it down the middle. When I finish, I wipe of the blood and goo and sheath it again. I still need an earth scroll. I look for chakra in the nearby radius. I spot a mist nin team. I teleport over to them. "What do you want girly?" One of them breaths though their air mask. "What scroll do you have?" I ask off the bat. "Why would we tell you?" They all laugh. I jump in front of them and place a kunai in front of two necks. "So you don't die" They hold up their hands. "E-ea-earth!" one of them stutters out. I hold out my hand and they place it in it. "Now that wasn't so bad was it?" I smile and teleport away. I relocate my camp and slept.

I woke up two days later. Still fine. I scope out the woods again. I see a few strewn out dead bodies. Even if they were not from my village they deserve better treatment. I line the bodies beside each other and clean off the blood. I fold their hands across the stomach making them look like they are sleeping. I spent the rest of the day picking wild flowers. I place the flowers all around each of the three bodies. I close there eye lids and write in the dirt. "Needed a proper treatment after death. Didn't kill them. ~Hono" By them it was sunset and I went back to my base camp to stay watch.

The next day about mid noon I hear a scream that sounds an awful like Sakura. I follow her chakra train and find her cutting off her hair to get away from the sound nin. "Sorry I was late guys," I put my arm behind me head. "Better late then never," Shikamaru mutter. "Don't sass me boy," I joke. I turn to Zaku and Dosu. "Ah looks like the princess came late to her ball" Dosu laughs raspily. "Anyway, Look you hurt my friends so now I hurt you!" I say as I dash at both of them. I engage in a taijutsu battle. "Phoenix Sage Fire Technique!" I shoot out several small fire balls that attack from random angles. Soon, Zaku and Dosu are burnt to a crisp. I feel a dark presence behind me. I slowly turn around and see Sasuke with a cure mark. "Who did this to you?" He asks darkly. "It was me!" Zaku raises his hand. Sasuke breaks his arms after that. Dosu and Kin left they scroll and ran. I concentrate a small amount of chakra on my finger and jab it into his neck, making the cure mark recede. "Don't try to use that ever again," I look at him before going off. I know they can take care of them selves. I trust them. I stop by the camp and pick up my stuff and leave. I go to the top of the tower and open both scrolls. There was a puff of smoke and Kakashi walked out of it. "Yo, did you get anything?" he asks. "Yeah, he left out one of his snakes and gave out a curse mark to Sasuke. He eyes widen at the latter. "We will have to seal that soon," I ponder. "I took care of his snake and put flowers around dead bodies and that was about it," I smile up. He stifles a laugh. "That's nice kid, go to one of the rooms on this floor while we wait for the others, but don't forget to monitor activity around here too."

"Okay, daad!" I draw out my words in a joking matter. I find a waiting room and plop on the bed. I monitor chakra fluctuation for the entire day. I leisurely stroll around the tower looking for things to do. I find a ping pong table, two paddles and a box of balls. Oh yeah, Fire ping pong! I pick up a paddle and a ping pong ball. I put a jutsu on it where it will be on fire but not burn the ball. I serve the ball to the other side and teleport over to it in time to hit it back. This goes on for about five hours. I hear someone walk in to the room as I am playing. I look and see my team. "oh hey guys, I got bored waiting," They just stare at me for a good 30 seconds. "Well we are all called down to the ground floor for announcements," Naruto breaks the silence.

We all walk down to the ground floor and join the rest of genin. "Since there are more genin left than expected we will have to have a preliminary round. If you are not in shape to fight right now, withdraw now," The Hokage announces much to our disbelief. Several hands go up after this statement. After all who raised their hand left he asked again. Sakura tried to get Sasuke to quit but he wouldn't listen. "The matches will be randomized by the machine. If you are in this match, remain in the arena," I look up at the board as it is randomizing. First I see my name followed by Kabuto's. Great. I have to battle him. We the only ones in the arena now. The proctor approaches. "Begin!" he waves his hand. I dart all over the area.
