Rain Dance

Today is Sasuke's birthday. I decide to make him a gift instead of just buying it. I run to the weapon store and buy kunai for me and him so we have a matching set. Then, I go to the store and pick up two ball and chain necklaces along with carving tools, two circle pendents, and rings to attach them. I walk back to my house and begin to work on the gifts. First, the kunais. I carve the uchiha clan symbol on one side of each of his kunai. On the other side, I carve the date and his name. On my set, I carve a flame symbol and my name along with the date. Then, I move on to the necklaces. I carve the Uchiha symbol and fill the grooves with red and white paint. I brush on navy blue for the background. On the back I simply write "Uchiha" in script and fill it in with red. On mine I made the flame marking and put "Moyasu" on the back. I fill the flame with red and orange paint and make the background black. I fill the script in with red. I leave them to dry and put his kunai and necklace in a small gift box. Fuck. The cake. I rush to my pantry and get out all of the ingredients. I decide to make him a strawberry cake. I mix it, pour it, bake it, cool it and frost it with white icing. I put it in a cake box and place his gift. Since it is too much to carry, I place it all in a scroll and go to his house. I knock on his door. "Hn?" He opens the door rubbing his eyes. "Hono-chan, what are you doing here?" I questions. "I am here because it is your birthday, dumbass," I smile. He motions me to follow him inside. "I told you we don't need to celebrate my birthday," he mumbles. "But it's your birthday, everyone deserves at least company on their birthday," I nudge him. I pull out the scroll and release the cake and gift. I hand him the gift box. "Here. It's for you," He opens the box and pulls out the necklace, then the kunai. I see him smile, not smirk for the first time. "I made me ones like those but with my name and a fire symbol," he looks up at me. "Do you have one of the kunai with you?" Sasuke questions out of the blue. "Y-yeah," I pull it out of my pocket and hand it to him. He hands me one of his kunai. "Now we have one of each others," he smiles down at me. I look up at him and kiss his cheek. "Cake Time!" I announce taking the cake from the container. He grabs two plates, two forks, and a knife. "Birthday boy gets to cut the first piece," I slide the cake over to him. He cuts two slices and places one on each plate. He slides the plate to me and we sit down on the couch. I tuck my legs underneath me and lean on Sasuke. "Y'know, this is the ideal birthday for me. Just me and you with a small party. Thanks," he says. "I'm certainly no expert in parties but I'm glad you enjoy it" I smile down at my plate. We finish eating in comfortable silence. As I take both of our plates and put them in the sink, it started pouring down raining. "It's raining," I say to no one in particular. I soon get a brilliant idea. "Wanna play in the rain?" I turn to him suddenly. "Hn, I don't see why not," he shrugs. "C'mon, it will be fun!" I take him by the hand and lead him outside. I look up to the sky and sigh happily. I jump in a few puddles and spin around .Soon I look towards him. "Dance with me!" I hold out my hand grinning like a small child. He chuckles lightly, take my hand, and leads us in a dance.

He pulls me closer to his chest. We swing lightly back and fourth.

I sing while we sway. I feel his laugh vibrate through his chest and I can't help but to smile. I swing out and grab both of his hands. I pick up the tempo to a faster, more bubbly pace.

Sasuke's POV

She smiles at me with child like innocence even though she has been through hell and back. She grabs my hands and livens up the tempo. We dance together tapping our toes to the side and spin around.

I feel like nothing could ever take her away. She sings a song that made me feel warm inside. While we spin around, I let out a genuine laugh. "I love you," I smile at her while saying. "And I love you too!" she giggles. I spin her out and let go of her hand. We both bow and look up at each other. "We should probably get inside, we can't have you catching a cold. We reenter the house shivering. I go to my room and pull out a pair of my shorts and a shirt for her. "Here, go change into this," I hand it to her.

Hono's POV

He hands me the clothes and I trot to the bathroom. I peel off the wet close and use a water jutsu to draw the water out of my underwear. They are not as soaked as my outer clothes so the water can be removed from the material. I slip on the clothes Sasuke let me use. It is a high-collared short sleeve black shirt with the Uchiha symbol on it. The shorts are plain red shorts that reach almost to the knee. I step out of the bathroom and join Sasuke on the couch. I rest my head on his shoulder. "This is the best birthday I have ever had," I hear him. "I'm glad," I say. We chatter back and fourth for a little bit longer before I fall asleep on his shoulder.

Sasuke's POV

She falls asleep on me and I smile. I feel like nothing could separate us. I soon fall asleep to the sound of rain pitter patting on the roof and windows.
