=== MISHA ===
"Relax. We're just doing an examination."
Misha laid on a table with her top off. Rin was beside her, hands roaming over her back. The Fuyuki doctor pressed her hands on certain areas longer than others before she wrote down her notes on paper. For her sake, Shirou and Saber left the room.
The room was a unit space offered to the Fuyuki doctors. Upon Rin's request, Kal'tsit provided the trio with one unit at the research wing of the landship.
Misha looked around while Rin continued working on her back. When she came yesterday, her new employers were busy setting the place up. Misha and Ch'en had nothing to do for the day and were free to spend it. Now, the two of them were finally starting their first day.
The teenage girl's eyes wandered over to the other table where another person was undergoing the same examination as her. Like her, a blue-haired girl was being prodded by another sister. Ch'en was flat on the other table being examined by Sakura. The former LGD Superintendent's tail lazily wagged in the air while the Fuyuki doctor wrote her own notes.
"If I may ask...what is the examination for? This looks a bit different to what is normally expected." Ch'en asked. She was familiar with the usual checks. Since she was always involved in operations for the LGD back in Lungmen, injuries were a norm for Ch'en. It was practically second nature to always see a doctor after every operation.
"Well..." Sakura looked over to Rin.
"We're trying to see if you have the ability to perform an alternative magic system." Rin didn't like calling magecraft as magic, but it was a good description to use when comparing it to Terran arts. "What we use isn't arts, but something else entirely. It doesn't rely on Originium either."
Misha blinked. This was news to her. The same realization must've come across Ch'en because the girl's eyes were wide.
"How can you tell if we have that ability?" Ch'en asked.
"We look for Magic Circuits. Think of it as nerves inside your body but specifically attuned to producing magical energy. Unfortunately, it seems Misha doesn't have any." Rin clicked her tongue. "How about Ch'en?" The older Tohsaka asked her sister.
"None either." Sakura shook her head. "I couldn't sense any circuits."
"Can either of you use Arts?" Rin moved on to the next objective. Since they didn't have circuits, she discarded any ideas of teaching them about Earth's magecraft system.
"I never tried." Misha murmured while slipping on her top. Now that examination was over, she was free to cloth herself.
"My Arts are limited to my swordsmanship." Ch'en reported. "I haven't tried it outside of that."
"Hmmm...but Arts needs Originium to work. Does that mean your weapon is made from it?" Sakura wondered. After getting access to the computer in their new unit, Rin made Shirou and Sakura start reading through the Rhodes Island library for information about Originium. One important note was how Originium Arts required Originium as the medium to perform magic.
"I...I don't know. My uncle never told me what Chi Xiao was made of." Ch'en glanced at her sword. "There are races on Terra that don't need Originium to perform Arts. Feranmut from Yan for example. They are an ancient species that could perform magic without Originium. Originium didn't exist in the past. There are some records of a time before then."
"For now, we'll start on trying to get you two to use Arts." Rin collected her notes along with Sakura's. "Aside from research, my goal with Sakura is to adapt our treatment method to Arts. Kal'tsit has proposed we coordinate with Shining for that." Not only were Shining and Nightingale doctors, but they were also competent mages from what Rin deduced.
