=== SHIROU ===

The VTOL holding bay was split between groups.

The Rhodes Island operatives streamed in last. They took the seats down the aisle until the last one settled in.

Shirou looked around him. Kal'tsit arranged the operatives to board last so that she could secure their cargo.

Operationally, it was logical. The paramilitary operatives were positioned to protect them.

Officially, it was dubious. Kal'tsit placed a prisoner, newly contracted doctors, and a dignitary within close proximity of each other.

Realistically, it was a disaster.

Shirou would've preferred moving Rin and Sakura further down in any other situation, but he couldn't argue with Kal'tsit's arrangement. She placed her strongest and most capable operators close for security. At the same time, his position between volatile elements meant they could shut down any problems quickly.

Aside from Sakura going out of control...maybe. For everyone else, Shirou was a one size fits all type of solution.

Oddly enough, it seemed everyone had their own bodyguard.

Shirou looked at Rin who was fussing over Sakura. The older girl was worried over her sister, double checking if Sakura felt anything off. Across them, another pair of sisters had a different atmosphere.

Ch'en and Talulah were actively focusing their attention on everything but each other. The Draco sister was looking out the window. The Lung sister was glancing her way here and there, but settled on looking down on her hands after a while.

Complex sibling issues aside, it was Shirou's neighbor that was the least problematic.

He glanced to his side where just like Talulah, FrostNova was looking out the window attentively.

"Everyone, please double check your belts." Kal'tsit reminded.

A brief flurry of movement as everyone checked. It looked like everyone was secured because not much movement was made.

"Is there anything I need to know about flying...?" FrostNova sent a question his way.

"Maybe the movement? First time flyers might have motion sickness. It's the unfamiliar movement that makes the body uncomfortable." They weren't flying high enough for the VTOL aircraft to pressurize the hull. Most of Terra's aircraft weren't designed to fly high or to fly for long periods of time. Originium storms in Terra prevented the technology from developing. Any object in the air was struck down when caught in the catastrophe's turbulent weather. It was safer to bunker down and wait out the storm instead.

Shirou felt someone's eyes on him. He looked up and saw Talulah staring at him. Her blank expression betrayed nothing...except for the eyes that looked a little wide.

Was she...scared?

"It's nothing to be scared of mostly. Just a little discomfort." Shirou looked back at FrostNova, acting like he didn't notice Talulah's reaction.

The Dragon of the Reunion...scared of flying.

"Unless you have a fear of heights, watching the view outside should help distract you if you feel queasy."

Shirou definitely did not see Talulah turn around and look out the window.

Nope.

A small shudder ran down the aircraft's hull as the propellers spun alive outside. They picked up speed and the vertical takeoff began. A small sound of surprise drew Shirou's attention to the source. He found Ch'en staring at a hand that suddenly gripped her leg before it latched on to the seat beneath her. The blue-haired dragon was just as surprised as him because she also looked at her half-sister after all that effort of avoiding her.
