Ashton: When you had first broken up with Ashton, it wasn't because of anything he did or a fight between you two. It was more or less about you. The typical "it's not you it's me" wasn't a substantial excuse, but it was the only one you thought of to say. You were disappointed in yourself, honestly –you felt that he deserved so much better than a simple sentence for an excuse, yet you also thought he deserved so much better then you. After you had told him, he feared that you weren't really giving him the truth, but he ended up letting you walk away anyways. "If that's what you want." Ashton told you, surprisingly not sad (he could never let you see him that way). He just wanted you to be happy and in his mind that meant letting you leave, while in yours it meant watching Ashton live his life without you in it. The seemingly un-complication of your break-up was only the cover up for all the feelings you were both hiding from each other.

Michael: It was apparent that the night ahead would only be awkward as your friends around you became consumed within their own conversations. Even after your break-up, it was a struggle to not constantly see him because you were friends with the same group of people. "So..." Michael chime, his eyes going wide and a fake smile growing on his lips. However, you could see right through it, you know him too well to succumb to any of that, "How have you been?" He added. "I can't believe after all we've been through all we can do is share lame small talk." You chuckled at him, watching his fake smile fade into a real one as he let out a loud laugh. "I know, it's actually terrible." Now, he was genuinely smiling, one that you found yourself missing. And throughout the night, as your conversation grew less mediocre by the second, you found yourself missing him as well.

Luke: Lately, everything with Luke seemed to be a hassle. Like he wasn't even interested in anything you had to say. Most times he would just roll his eyes, which infuriated you, but you were always too afraid to start anything with him in fear of the worst happening. Even then, there was still only so much of that a person could take and soon enough your temper would blow up in his face. "What's your problem? You've been giving me the cold shoulder for the past few weeks." You couldn't believe he had the nerve to say that to you after the way he was treating you. "Are you kidding me Luke?" He shrugged in return, enraging you. "This has to be a fucking joke, right?" He looked shocked, but still didn't say anything, only furrowing his eyebrows at you. "You're ridiculous." You shook your head, "I can't take it anymore." "You can't take what?" "You! You and your attitude and just this!" You motioned your hands between the two of you. "What do you mean?" You chuckled evilly at his dumbfounded look. "I mean, when you're done being an asshole then maybe we can talk."

Calum: "I'll be by to pick up the rest of my things later." After you read the text from your ex-boyfriend, you fumbled around your apartment in search of the box you were half tempted to light on fire only a few days ago. When that "later" finally arrived with a soft knock at your door, you sucked up all the dignity you had to show Calum that you were find without him and answered it. "Hey," He greeted, even you had to admit he looked damn good. "Hey." You repeated flatly, trying not to show any emotion what-so-ever. The whole thing sounded like a drug deal then a return of items. "Oh, uh, come in." You realized you had been staring at him for a few long seconds before stepping to the side, letting him into your apartment, which you once called ours. The both of you stood awkwardly in your living room, Calum looking around to see if you had changed anything around. "So this-" "I have your box in my room, hold on." Calum stayed put, waiting patiently. When you walked back out, he was sitting on the couch looking through some pictures on your coffee table. You set the box down, "I couldn't bring myself to throw them away." You explained, noting that the pictures were some of your favorite memories with him. "This doesn't have to be like this." He told you, standing up, "What do you say we go get dinner, maybe see a movie?" You were hesitant at first. Opening yourself back up to Calum might take some time, but maybe a little break was all you needed after all.
