"He'll be the most spoiled kid in this country." Axel chuckled as they both stood in the doorway, looking at the finished nursery for Zane.
Ade and Ariel had chosen a deep grey for their child, not knowing what the gender would be. But they hadn't gotten around to the furniture.
Axel and Ariel had spent almost two weeks over it, trying to make sure Ade's choices were represented in the room in some way. They wouldn't have it any other way. They couldn't for that matter.
Zane needed to know he had a father who cared a lot about him. It didn't matter if he was physically present or not, he was watching over him and loved him just as much.
She looked down at her pup. "Do you like it, baby?" She asked him with a smile, kissing his head.
"I'm sure he does, Ari." Axel grinned at her. The room was pretty awesome. The crib was against the wall right opposite to the door with big windows next to it and huge pictures of the family above it. There was a faux black wolf fur rug in the middle on top of a bigger white rug. The cupboard and the toy basket were on the wall to the left of the door and the changing table was to the right. There was a chair and a table in front of the windows. The furniture was white and the carpeting and walls deep grey. It was beautiful and perfect.
Their quiet and peace was interrupted by a knock on the door of her suite. She let Are go and answer it.
"Ari, it's Cain for you."
Ariel turned around and walked to the kitchen. "Come in, Cain." She called and heated up milk for Zane since he was getting fussy.
"Alpha." Cain said in greeting when he entered the kitchen. His tone made it obvious he was here on official business.
She sighed and looked down at her son who was about to start wailing.
"I'll take care of him." Axel said, looking at her tired face with sharp eyes. It had already been a long day and now more work.
"Thank you, Axel." She handed the boy over and then the milk too, after checking its temperature and making sure it wasn't too hot.
He went to the lounge and she turned to Cain. "What is it?"
"Alpha Richard's beta called, said that the Alpha will be calling you in about fifteen minutes." He looked at his watch.
She nodded with another sigh.
"Have you slept?" Cain asked.
She shrugged. "Zane is a hungry pup." She said a way of explanation and walked to the lounge. "I'll be in the office, Axe."
He nodded and watched her leave. She sat down in her chair and waited.
"Alpha Richard, what a pleasure."
"Alpha Ariel. It's not too late is it? I didn't know if you took the weekend off so I wanted to make sure I talked to you today."
"It's fine, I had just gone out of the office an hour or two ago. And I do take the Sunday off."
"It is late isn't it?" He chuckled. "Sorry."
"It's okay. What can I help you with?" She asked him.
"I wanted to arrange the meeting to review our treaty."
She nodded. "When?"
"I was thinking Tuesday."
She hummed lowly and then nodded. "That works out for me. How many men are you bringing along?"
"My gamma and three men other than that."
"Good. My men wouldn't appreciate if you bring along too many men." She replied. "They are on edge."
