The Hogwarts Express hadn't even reached its destination before Harry Potter was attacked once again. Although Evelyn, Fred and George could have used it as fuel to mock their friend for the cons of his infamous name, concern overruled the desire to tease him.

Evelyn had hid herself away in one of the carriages that held the student luggage to be alone, when the lights had cut out and the temperature had dropped significantly. The plaid shirt hanging around her waist had been untied and pulled over her goosebump littered arms. At first she had no reason to believe that the cause of the cold had been due to a paranormal occurrence like the Dementors. It wasn't until she realised that the train had stopped far too early for their journey to be over, that her instincts told her that something wasn't right.

Her instincts were correct because when she finally made it back to the compartment containing her friends, Harry was passed out on the floor with Hermione, Ron, Neville, Ginny and Professor Lupin looming over him worriedly. They filled her in on what had happened while Harry regained consciousness. The Dementors looking for Sirius Black had a much stronger effect on him than the others, but Lupin was on the ball to hand him a piece of chocolate, which he assured would make him feel better until they reached the castle.

If there was any doubt that he was the newly appointed DADA teacher, it was practically confirmed now. He knew exactly what to do, and according to Hermione, had used a spell to remove the Dementors from the train.

After getting changed into their uniforms and taking the stagecoaches from Hogsmeade station, they were finally in Hogwarts. Much chatter had echoed on the way in as students pointed out the Dementors that lingers around the school grounds. Harry's completion had turned sickly pale at the sight of them.

While he and Hermione had been called away by Professor McGonagall, Evelyn and Ron had been sent off to wait for them in The Great Hall. Things were still tense between the siblings as they sat through the Sorting Ceremony of the new first year students. Both were equally stubborn and had opted to talking to those around them at the Gryffindor table; such as their other relatives in the Weasley family.

When Harry and Hermione returned to join them, they explained the reason for their absence. Lupin had owled ahead to tell McGonagall about the incident on the train, which had prompted her to take Harry to the Infirmary where he was encouraged to eat more chocolate to get rid of the effects of his encounter with Azkaban's guards. While Hermione had gave a brief comment about complications with her timetable which had to be fixed, before the students' attention was called to the Hogwarts Choir.

In the cauldron boil and bake, fillet of a fenny snake,
Scale of dragon , tooth of a wolf, witch's mummy, maw and gulf.
Double, double, toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Double, double, toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Double, double, toil and trouble. Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Something wicked this way comes.

Students clapped when the song was over as Professor Flitwick and the choir students returned to their respective tables. Professor Dumbledore took the opportunity to make his way to the platform, the bushiness of his beard hiding a majority of the brilliant smile underneath. "Welcome! Welcome to another year at Hogwarts," he announced as the applause died down. "Now, I'd like to say a few words before we all become too befuddled by our excellent feast. First, I'm pleased to welcome Professor R.J. Lupin, who has kindly consented to fill the post of Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher. Good luck, Professor."
