Even though December was a time of the year for family, Evelyn's wish to spent a Christmas at Hogwarts was granted. The castle had never looked more beautiful as it did during the festive season, it very well resembled a Christmas card. Christmas decorations lined almost every wall, and several trees count be found around Hogwarts. In a few short weeks, most of the students would be home with their parents. This year, however, the Weasley children would be staying at Hogwarts while Molly and Arthur visited Charlie in Romania. Evelyn had no complaints in the matter.

Their next trip to Hogsmeade was in the second weekend of December. Evelyn dressed in her warmest clothes, with her feet clad in boots in preparation for the snow in the Wizarding Town. Her plans for the day included meeting with Cedric. She'd laughed when he suggested going to Madam Puddifoot's Tea Shop, because she thought he was joking. Once she discovered that it was a serious offer, she suggested The Three Broomsticks instead after explaining that the Tea Shop was very much not her type of scenery. He agreed, and instead they went to the local pub where they chatted over Hot Chocolates to chase away the nippy cold.

Of course, she had another surprisingly great day with Cedric. They briefly talked about the Quidditch Match incident, in which she brushed off his apology and told him it was not necessary. The Gryffindor team had gotten over the lose, and were now preparing for their comeback performance. After spending two hours in The Three Broomsticks, they parted ways. Cedric went to join his friends, while she joined her own.

Evelyn found Hermione and Ron leaving Honeydukes, Harry was absent as he still did not possess a signed permission slip to enter the town. Evelyn was surprised she was even allowed back to Hogsmeade after the incident on Halloween, but the Minister of Magic claimed that isolating her when there was no other sightings of Sirius Black would just alarm the other children. Therefore, alarming their parents. It was all very political, Evelyn had accepted. On the bright side, she wouldn't miss out on time with her best friend and brother.

The trio decided to visit The Shrieking Shack, a location they missed on their last visit. Even though the building was in ruins, Evelyn thought it looked quite beautiful in a mystical way. Every adventurous instinct in her bones told her to climb the fence and venture inside, her curiosity was calling out to her to investigate if it really was haunted by an unidentified ghost. Her friends were too proud to admit that they were quite fearful of discovering what resided inside The Shrieking Shack.

"It's meant to be the most haunted building in Britain," Hermione informed them, before a confused look came over her face. "Did I mention that?"

The siblings nodded, "Twice."

"Do you want to move a bit closer?" She asked.

Ron looked to the girl with a shocked expression. "What?" He squeaked.

Evelyn chuckled quietly to herself, having realised Ron's misunderstanding of the question. The look of surprise on his face was very amusing to her, she would of course tease him about it later in a sisterly fashion. However, Hermione hadn't seemed to notice the double meaning behind her question.

"To the Shrieking Shack?"

Ron became more relaxed after the clarification. "Actually, I'm fine here." He answered.

"Well, well. Look who's here."

Turning towards the tree line, the trio discovered that the new arrival in the clearing belonged to Draco Malfoy. Flagging his either side were Crabbe and Goyle. The smug expressions that they had become accustomed to seeing on their faces remained intact, which riled Evelyn. From the mocking voice Draco had used upon his arrival, the brunette could already confirm that this interaction was not going to be a good one.
