It took a week for everyone to stop talking about Sirius Black. During that time, so many extra precautions had been put in place by staff for the students safety. There has been rumours of students being sent home, but those filtered away after there were no further sighting of the mass-murderer. Instead of focusing on Black, students were more concerned about the first Quidditch Match being cancelled. Evelyn was one of many who would be devastated if the game was cancelled. She needed the distraction and she needed an opportunity to let out some frustrations. They'd heard nothing yet, even though the game was tomorrow, which had to be a good sign.

Oliver Wood had approached her several times that week, giving her tips for the game and telling her weaknesses about the apposing team. They were playing against Cedric's team, whom she hadn't spoken to since their drink together at Hogsmeade. The Slytherin team claimed that it was unfair that they be forced to play when their seeker was injured, despite the fact that Draco's arm was perfectly fine and everyone knew it. Wood's motivation to beat their opponents reached the point that Harry had tried - and failed - to hide from Oliver whenever he could, he'd disappear for hours because he'd been cornered by the Gryffindor Captain. Sometimes he'd be late to class instead, just like that Friday for Defence Against the Dark Arts.

On the Friday, Harry was late to Defence Against the Dark Arts. Draco had taken to sitting in the desk beside her in his absence. Evelyn wasn't bothered about this as much as she was bothered about the Professor taking over the class for Lupin.

When Snape had arrived, announcing he was teaching the class, many of the students failed to hide their disappointment. Lupin had become very popular among the students; his classes were exciting and he used methods of teaching that other professors couldn't be bothered to use as they were hassle. Professor Lupin took a far more practical approach, and it was clear that he cared about how much his students enjoyed their lessons. It helped their learning abilities.

Harry's lateness would be excused easily if Lupin had the class, but Snape wasn't as forgiving. And with the match against Slytherin tomorrow, Evelyn wouldn't be surprised if Snape tried to give Harry detention just to stop him from participating in the match. Although, she doubted that Professor McGonagall would allow it, given how much she supported her team.

Snape was interrupted by the arrival of her friend. "Sorry I'm late, Professor Lupin. I —" Harry stopped once he noticed that it wasn't Lupin at the teacher's desk.

"This lesson began ten minutes ago, Potter, so I think we'll make it ten points from Gryffindor. Sit down," Snape drawled.

"Where's Professor Lupin?"

The Professor's annoyance was evident as Harry remained where he stood in the doorway. Evelyn wanted to tell the boy to sit down before he got into real bother. Hermione and Ron at the next table were also trying to catch Harry's attention.

"He says he is feeling too ill to teach today. I believe I told you to sit down?"

Harry stayed where he was. "What's wrong with him?" he asked.

The Professor's eyes darkened as his patience continued to thin. "Nothing life-threatening," he answered, though he seemed disappointed to admit. "Five more points from Gryffindor, and if I have to ask you to sit down again, it will be fifty."
