After a few minutes of walking I see my new high school. It was only a few blocks away. I hurry to get inside because my umbrella is very wet. The first room I see has ''Office'' written in big purple letters. I take a deep breath and go inside. A redheaded with big brown eyes is sitting at a desk typing something on her computer. She has a name tag that says ''Ms. Candice'' on her chest.

''Hello, how can I help you'' She says in a welcoming and warm tone.

''I'm Luna Clark, the new student...'' I say in a low voice.

''That's right! Take a seat Luna.'' She tells me.

''Well, here's your schedule and I don't think you will have any trouble finding your classes. Here's my phone number, text me or come visit me again if anything goes wrong. Here's a flyer where you can see all the clubs we offer and you're welcomed to join all. Have a great day Luna'' She says.

Ms. Candice hands me a whole bunch of papers and keeps on talking about how great Mays High is. I give her a thankful smile and walk out. I observe my schedule for the first time. I hate it so far, I hate my new school and everyone else even though I haven't really met anyone.

I walk into my first hour when the bells rings. Literature class, uhh. The teacher is a short woman with glasses, about 40 years of age I would say. Ms. Montano smiles at me and I smile back.

''You can sit anywhere Luna'' She says without her eyes leaving a book.

I scan the room for a few seconds. A group of girls that are sitting on the first desks stare at me and whisper something to themselves. I ignore them and walk to the last desk on the right side of the room. There's a big glass window next to it, where I will be able to admire the rain. I will also be able to admire the view from upstairs.

I open the Literature book that is sitting at my desk. The tardy bell rings one last time and everyone comes inside. I don't pay attention to anyone. The room gets very loud. A tall guy, whose face I avoid takes a seat in the desk in front of me. Another guy stares at me for a few moments and takes a seat next to me.

Ms. Montano starts class and I look out the window. I admire the light sound of the rain. I'm taken away daydreaming. I feel like someone keeps on staring at me. I turn to my right and hazel eyes meet mine. The first thing I notice about him are his pouty lips and brown hair. He gives me a half smile. I don't know what to do. I smile and turn to Ms. Montano.

Class goes by slow and hazel eyes keep staring at me. I ignore him. The bell rings and I accidently drop my Literature book, Hazel eyes picks it up for me. He is very tall and smells like cinnamon.

''Thank you...'' I say and blush.

''No problem..'' He is about to say something else when I leave.

I go downstairs and go up to my locker. I always had trouble opening lockers. A tall figure is standing beside me. I look up to him and its hazel eyes. He smiles. I blush again and my heart beat races.

''Luna..right? You forgot your umbrella'' He says and hands me my purple umbrella.

''Thank you so much'' I tell him and look down.

''I'm Alexander'' He says and shakes my hand.

''My name is Luna Clark'' I say and shake his hand.

His hand is warm and I feel a connection to our touch. He is still grabbing my hand and I let go. His hazel eyes stare deeply into mine. I smile since I don't know what to say or do. Boys always make me nervous, since I'm very shy.

''I should go to my next class'' I tell him.

''I'll walk you there, what's your next class'' He says without losing eye contact.

''Geometry I think'' I say.

''Well I have science next, which is next to your geometry class'' He says.

''Thank you'' I say and smile.

We walk to my next class and many people stare at us. I go inside and sit at the front row. Alexander leaves and winks at me. I feel butterflies in my stomach. I try not to think about him and pay attention in class.

Geometry class goes by fast and I am the first one to leave when the bell rings. Alexander is talking to some guys so I don't bother him. I walk into Biology class. I admire the white walla covered with Earth and atom's pictures.

''Hello Luna, you will be Taylor's partner so take a seat right here in the front desk.'' He says and points to a table in the front row.

Alexander walks in and smiles when he sees me. A girl with brown hair and warm beige skin sits next to me. I smile at her but she doesn't smile back. I avoid her for a while. I turn to the back of the room and Alexander was already staring at me. I smile at him and he smiles back.

Class goes by fast, and so does the rest of the day. The bell rings and I walk to the cafeteria. I don't bother to get food. I go outside and sit at a dry bench. I just browse Instagram. Alexander sits next to me. He doesn't ask why am not eating anything. We just sit and talk about how boring school is so far. Two more classes and I can go home now.

By the end of my last class the rain has gotten heavier. I open my umbrella and star my walk home. Every drop of rain felt cold and the skies were gray. I walked as fast as I could but my umbrella doesn't seem to be helping at all. A black car parks in front of me and the passenger door flies open. I see my favorite hazel eyes staring at me.

''Free ride?'' He asks.

I go inside his car. The smell of cinnamon seems familiar now. Low classical music is playing in the back of the car. Alexander seems to be asking me something, but I can't keep up. The whole world seems to be spinning and I'm very lightheaded. I close my eyes. I feel the emptiness in my stomach.
