Luna Clark

Chapter 5

By the end of the school day I wait for Alexander at the front benches. He smiles at me when he sees me. I smile back. It hasn't rained all day it has just been really cold. We walk to his car and Alexander opens the passenger's door for me. He starts driving but instead of turning to Lydia's street he goes straight.

''Where are we going '' I ask.

''I have to make sure you eat something first, and I was planning on having you help me do some shopping'' He says without looking at him.

Ughh. I want to slap him in the face right now. He sounded just like Angelina right now. I ignore him for the rest of the drive till we stop at a shopping plaza. I hate shopping and eating. I avoid telling him how much I regret getting in the car with him in the first place. He opens the door for me and I just follow him to the café.

He orders a Mocha and I order a Vanilla Latte. We don't leave until I drink all my coffe.

''Would you like anything else'' He asks me.

''I think I'm fine for now'' I tell him.

The coffee has filled the emptiness in my stomach. Part of me wants to thank him for saving me from starvation but I'm still mad he broke my diet. He holds the door for me and I look at the ''Now hiring'' announcement at the door. I take a picture of it.

''You know I need a job, I can't spend my days without doing nothing'' I tell him.

''That's great Jacob actually works here on the weekends'' He tells me.

Jacob works? Wow. Haha I thought he was one of those spoiled popular kids who get everything they want without working for it. We visit a Clothing boutique next.

The first thing that grabs my attention is a black strapless dress. I check my pocket and I remember I only have 10 dollars with me right now. I hope Alexander didn't see that.

''Buy anything you like, I'm going to get a pair of shoes'' He says and smirks.

''Oh no that would be too much to ask'' I say.

''No I'm serious get anything you want, I can buy you that black dress you liked.'' He says and continues to look for shoes.

''How did you know I liked that dress?'' I ask him.

''Because I find you very easy to read Luna'' He says without looking at me.

Easy to read. His words don't leave my mind. If he finds me easy to read than he must know why I'm not eating. That's why he bought me coffe. Because he knows I won't eat nothing else for the rest of the day. I go to the woman's section and try on a scarf. It is a big beige infinity scarf. I look at myself in the mirror and smile. Alexander is looking at me in the back. He is holding the black dress and hands it to me.

''Try it on'' He tells me.

I go to the dressing room and put it on. It's a small size. I tried it on. It was very tight and ended above my knees. Angelina would kill me if she saw me wearing something like this. I go back, and spin around Alexander for a few moments. His hazel eyes scan my entire body from head to toe. He seems to be taken by a daydream when he sees me for the first time on the dress. I blush and look down. I look at myself in the mirror and I feel confident in my own skin for the first time. The way he's looking a me right now makes me feel confident.

I don't even look at the price tag when I tell him I want it. He smiles at me. I go back to the dressing room and change into my old clothes. When I go back Alexander has already paid for his shoes, the scarf, and the dress. We walk back to the car.

''Thanks for the dress'' I tell him.

''No problem'' He tells me and winks.

''Where are we going next?'' I ask confidently.

''Well would you like to come with me to watch my sister dance ballet?'' He asks.

We go back to Lydia's street and I take my backpack back home. I knock at his door and a little girl opens the door. She has big green eyes and long brown hair. She looks around 6 or 5 years of age.

''Alex! Your girlfriend's here!'' She yells and closes the door at my face.

I am left standing in the front door when she opens it back.

''Come inside!'' She tells me.

''You must be Luna, my brother told me everything about you. He mentioned how sexy you are. He also mentioned the blue eyes blonde hair, and them long legs'' She tells me.

I can't help but laugh. Alexander appears coming downstairs ad gives the little girl a look.

''Lily!'' Alexander tells her.

We all get in the car and Lily puts on her earbuds to avoid us. The car drive is fun. We drop Lily at her ballet class and stay on the car. It starts to rain.

''Have you ever felt like there's no one out there who feels what you feel. Who's broken deep inside like you are. You try letting it all out but don't know how to...''I let it out just staring at the rain.

''I might not know what it actually feels like, but I want you to know that I'll be here for you no matter what, I'll be here to listen to all you have to say, let your feelings out'' He tells me.

I look at him and his hazel eyes are already staring at me. I look at his pouty lips. I just admire his face for a moment. He touches my hand and just plays with it. His touch is soft and warm. I had never met anyone like Alexander Davis. The guy who is about to change my whole life with his presence. He is protective and easy to talk to like my dad. He makes me feel things I've never felt before. I had never felt so confident and strong around anyone before.

We spend the next 45 minutes deep talking in his car. Chilling admiring the rain. I check my phone and its 5pm. Lily gets inside the car.

''I'm hungry'' She tells us.

''What would you girls like'' Alexander asks us.

''Pizza! Pizza! And fries'' Lily suggests .

I don't even look at Alexander because I know he's looking at me with his worried puppy eyes. We order a pizza box and fries through the drive thru. He drives us back home. Lily hurries inside since its raining.

''Would you like to join us for dinner?'' Alexander asks.

''My mom's always home and I want to eat dinner with her since its the only time I can see her'' I tell him.

I look down and fake a smile. He seems to believe me. I go inside my house and go directly upstairs. I weight myself. 120 pounds. I gained 2 pounds these past week. I can't let him ruin my diet again. I go to my restroom and do it again. I look at my mirror. Where's the confident girl I saw today? The one who stared back at the mirror and felt pretty for the first time. 'I will be pretty soon' I tell myself.

I grab the bag and take a look at the dress. He ripped the price tag so I won't complain about him spending his money on me. I lay down on my bed. Today was a good day. I came up with a plan. I'll eat then let it all out. So Alexander won't worry about me anymore. I can go back to being 'Normal' but still accomplishing my perfect goal.

When Angelina arrives home she brings Tacos . I eat 3 tacos. She seems happy. We have a normal conversation about our day. I tell her about Alexander. As soon as I finish dinner I do the dishes and lock myself in my restroom. I will be pretty I tell myself. I finish my homework and go to sleep. I dream of hazel eyes that night. I dream of his pouty lips on mine. Kissing me softly.
